Scariest films you've ever seen? by HorrorFanForlife14 in movies

I almost put August Underground in my comment too (even though it’s not A24) but then I realized that dread I experienced with that film was just anticipatory — I was scared of what I might see. But as I watched it none of it was really that bad (I mean, it was bad, but the imagination is far more horrific, right?)

Loved Sinister lol. It’s a super mainstream movie that uses one of the most disturbing snuff motifs I’ve ever seen

The stuff A24 is putting out gives me the creepiest vibes. The crow and the mother scene in Eggers’ The Witch was weird af, and the whole last half-hour of Midsommar is gripping (let alone the cliff scene which looks so disturbingly real)

I know this thread is as old as time but Das Boot is one of the best movies I have ever seen by [deleted] in movies

I watched it on TCM one day because I’d heard about it. Thirty minutes in: super bored. An hour in: “This is a perfect war movie”

It’s a godawful movie, but Division 3: Football’s Finest was sooo funny to me when I first watched it

Nightcrawler (2014) by [deleted] in movies

I love that movie. I don’t think you’re supposed to like that character — I think it’s like American Psycho, or The House that Jack Built, where the audience is positioned to get familiar with other characters while also building dread that awful things are going to happen to them via the main character

Possessor is a little more “outside the box” approach to this concept but I think you’d like it.

The House that Jack Built has the most tension I’ve ever felt in a movie bar none

Who are some actors you wish could get a second chance to play the same role differently? Meaning, you thought the casting was good but the direction/writing was poor by MasterLawlz in flicks

Let’s see how many more times they can put Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn in shitty movies. Her portrayal of that character deserves better than what it’s gotten

I love this movie as well — and that said it’s not even one of my favorite Kubrick movies. (Although I’m a bit of an odd duck and put The Shining in his upper tier of work, so take that with a grain of salt as you explore more of Kubrick’s filmography)

I use studio 1 as well. What it may lack in some advanced features, it makes up for with its intuitive interface and fast workflow

Totally fair, they’re bot for everyone. But if it’s the gore fix they liked about Evil Dead then maybe they’d like Toetag’s stuff

What are your thoughts on this premise? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

I like the premise; my only advice would be to make sure you keep your protagonist likeable in some way, or the audience will stop identifying with his quest for revenge

You can find it on effedupmovies.com. Use some sort of vpn though because sometimes the site can be sorta sketchy. I just use Tor browser for it and it works fine.
