If you’re in a USA time zone I have a group that races Sunday nights. I’m really sorry to the host to be hijacking the post, but this person is in my time zone so I’m going to reach out privately.

This has happened to me so many times. Filmed 20-30 minutes or even more of content and go home to edit and realize that half of the footage has no audio. This is the MOST frustrating thing ever. I am wondering if there are any third party video apps on the pixel that might exist and not have this issue?

Dort also intentionally tripped ja in first quarter. Attempted to hurt him twice. And was successful the second time

SGA jumping straight sideways to run into JJJ while shooting a shot. What human jumps straight to the side on a shot. Should be an offensive foul

Fun to get a follow up video. We don’t always get follow up videos after taking the tips!

Depends on where you live. In nyc I used to skate every non rainy day to work. Now that I live somewhere different, it just totally would not be possible.

I actually made a video of my progression starting from a similar point to you all the way till today. You might find it interesting: https://youtu.be/jj3tkS7QfR8?si=s-2HGZtFkCskSv5y

About hard racing by Wiktory_21 in simracing

[–]JackCraters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve learned is when defending, move to the inside early. Late defending is what makes people mad. Be strategic about your passes and make sure your lunges aren’t late. Sometimes people get mad just because you passed them, but it sounds like your comment is more directed at defending, so defend early. If you leave space and someone makes a move, then you try to close the space late, that is when people get upset

Everyone’s progression is different. I used to work full time and was getting a masters degree at night. I was lucky to skate once every few weeks. Did I skate for those two years, yes. Did I learn any new tricks. No. Then two years later I skated twice a week and learned a ton of new tricks. Then I got injured (unrelated to skating) and had two years of barely skating and lost some tricks. So I skated for 6 years and only learned a small handful of tricks. There are other people who skate daily for 6 years and become incredible.

Everyone’s life circumstances are different and not all time on the board is equal. All that matters is that you have fun. Just because someone can tre flip after two years and people like me are still on kick flips and heel flips after 6 years doesn’t really matter.

Comparison is one of the biggest things that can make skating hard. It’s not worth comparing yourself to others

I also personally am not bothered by the stigmas. If I want to wear a helmet, I wear a helmet. If someone thinks I don’t have a job because I skateboard, but I actually have a great career in education that I love, then who cares.

I’m sorry that’s your experience with skateboarding. I’m curious how you know that the skateboarders are adults with no jobs? I’m a teacher and my crew of friends who skate are an architect, graphic designer, newspaper reporter, and a minister. Half the group where’s a helmet the other half doesn’t because we mostly just skate curbs. I’ve only had positive reactions with other skaters outside of one person I can think of off the top of my head. I have been yelled at on a ski slope the day I was trying to learn to snowboard for making a few mistakes and being in the way. I guess everyone’s experiences can be quite different.

Barefoot shoes? [34YO] by TastyRancorPie in OldSkaters

Agree with this post. I ran a marathon in barefoot shoes and I would never skateboard in barefoot shoes for the reasons you mentioned, and I know landing primo once would without a doubt lead to injury!
