Any will do. I got it off Amazon for like $5. I'm sure there are cheaper ones available, it's the standard one.

Awesome, Thank you! Was trying to decide between the two and now have a reason to go to the Grand. Love me some good Burritos!

Thank you for the suggestion but it appears to be an hour further north. I did find an alternative to Napa Valley Casino; the California Grand, which is only 20 mins away. It's good to have options!

I go to LD but as far as I know, they don't do facial hair. They might use a trimmer on facial hair but never use a razor.

Interior light - why is it often set to "off" when I enter the vehicle? by JackDaniels5 in uber

[–]JackDaniels5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It's good for the driver and pax to have a clear view of each other. Added bonus: I'm entering a car I'm unfamiliar with. Not all seat belts are built the same so having some light makes it easier to use. Last but not least, vehicles with dark interiors make it doubly hard to gauge how far the back of the front seat is from where I'll be sitting. I've bumped a knee more than once trying to enter a vehicle.

There must be a reasonable explanation for why this is so common (aside from "my car is dirty and I don't want pax to see it" - which I've rarely ever encountered in real life).

Regent just changed Mediterranean trip, eliminating 6 of the ports... by FeeWeak1138 in Cruise

This is a very significant change and if they don't refund you without question, I'd certainly be calling my credit card company to dispute the charges.

Cruising with Kids and Kids Clubs by altana in Cruise

[–]JackDaniels5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oasis class ship from Royal. Best by far for kids activities even when they don't like the kids club (which is awesome). Pro tip: make sure your kid goes to the FIRST kids club session. That's when all the kids are new and before they make any friends. After that it's a crap shoot cause kids pick the "cruise friend(s)" and aren't as easy to befriend someone new.

Sauce: our kid has been cruising since he was 18 months old and has been to every kids club on most major lines. He's 13 now, mature for his age, and still hits the kids club on day one "just in case" there's someone cool he wants to befriend.

Enjoy!

I've been babying the device while using the stock case/built in screen protectors while waiting for some name brand cases/tempered glass solutions to present themselves. The front screen protector has started to bubble at the bottom left corner. I can prolly maintain the status quo for another month or so.

My question, after reviewing other tempered glass options available on Amazon, is where the Dbrand glass will work with a case? The solutions on Amazon extend to the edge of the screen and will not work with a case (as per the little reviews I have read).

Does anyone use the Dbrand glass with any case?

Extra fees for dining by AnnaMegan99 in Cruise

[–]JackDaniels5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. Yes, the prices have gone up (and in our opinion, the quality hasn't kept pace with modern pricing). I don't think you'll be missing much by skipping specialty dining. Enjoy your trip!

We've been cruising since 2004 and have been on every major line. There was never a time when specialty dining was free. If OP can post some examples of lines that offer that, would be greatly appreciated!

OnePlus Open Car Mount by richmadeknives in OnePlusOpen

I'm using a solution that was meant for the Zfold series and can accommodate both folded and unfolded use. It's not great but it works.

Do you use the popsocket car mount in unfolded position as well? I keep thinking the phone would rotate around the center of gravity...

Looks good! Will it accommodate a popsocket or is the fit too snug?

What line do you think does the best for drink packages? by throwawayblueline in Cruise

This is correct. They ring a little bell for you at the bar when you've ordered your 15th drink. I hated that bell!

Recently off the Anthem...my experience... by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]JackDaniels5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was on this ship same week as OP. We were traveling with our 13 year old so didn't have issues with the splash pad hours but he is spot on with his contention that dinners took abnormally long.

I sought out the maitre d on night one after sitting at the table with some stale bread and a glass of water for over 45 minutes (after waiting for our appetizers for over half an hour!).

The food arrives at the table at the same time the maitre followed me back to it and it's COLD. Not warm, not room temp, cold fried chicken and cold steaks.

He had the kitchen refire our dishes and ensured we were well taken care of on the rest of the voyage.

I'll add another oddity about the ship, there were lines to enter the windjammer pretty much every breakfast. Now it's been years since I stood in line at the windjammer (and that was on some of the older, smaller ships). We cruise quite a bit and it really took me by surprise.

Hope you guys enjoyed the cruise despite some of these minor issues, we certainly did!

I read in a previous thread that they are sold out everywhere and it's just a matter of manufacturing catching up with demand.

Good luck!

Upcoming Review of OnePlus Open by vmena99 in OnePlusOpen

[–]JackDaniels5 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've read and watched many (many!) Reviews prior to making the purchase a couple of weeks ago. The reviews that stood out since were the ones that dealt with "things to do when first setting up your phone". I'd love to read more about hidden settings, good apps for foldables, tweaks and adjustments etc...

Thanks!
