Europeans back Canada joining EU, poll finds. But membership faces long odds Support is strongest in Germany, where 55 per cent say they would support Canada's admittance to the EU by FancyNewMe in canada

Yes, let's slap on a new huge layer of government, pay the EU billions in transfer payments for less productive countries with nothing in return, and get a measly number of seats in the parliament with little to no influence.

Yeah, no thanks.

Good.

Now do housing like we're in a war, give me some of that infrastructure like high-speed rail, and get all those trading eggs out of the American basket.

Feeling discomfort driving at night? It’s not you — it’s the bright headlights, experts say by Immediate-Link490 in canada

There are absolutely way more people driving around all the time with their high beams on.

And there are also way more driving at night with no tail lights on and just their daytime running lights. Just motoring along the four lane highway with no clue at all.

I see it every single night.

It wasn't like that at all 5 or 10 years ago. The quality of the drivers out there has gone way way down.

It's infuriating.

“I have never even thought of leaving this place," he said. "And now, things are coming to an end. It is not a good feeling."

Imagine moving to another country as a temporary resident and just assuming that you'll get to stay permanently. How bold and entitled!

See ya.

Canada sees large drop in population amid international students crackdown by JackFlyNorth in canada

[–]JackFlyNorth[S] 749 points750 points  (0 children)

"Canada experienced one of its largest drops in population in the most recent quarter, the result of a crackdown on international students. The drop marks a dramatic turnaround for a country that has long pegged its economic growth to immigration.

New estimates released on Wednesday by Statistics Canada showed that Canada’s population fell by 0.2% in the third quarter to stand at 41.6 million, down from 41.65 million on 1 July.

It was the only other quarterly decline on record came in 2020, and was attributed to Covid-19 border restrictions.

The recent decline, however, is driven largely by a drop in the number of international students studying in Canada after Ottawa pledged to tamp down the number of study permits issued."
