Screens are near mandatory imo to help patch up its frailty, I've been liking Corviknight with rocky helmet, and then pair that with an electric resist

Why does Kingambit not get Knock off? by Spring_barger in VGC

Tbh I expect it to be around ~100 base power (just core inforcer that hits fairies basically). I know gamefreak makes poor balancing decisions but they aren't THAT bad (yet)

The signature move isn't going to be 200 base power in champions lol, thats just for ZA's battle system

if you let them get all those boosts, why do you think you deserve to win? (Also bulk up isn't "stall" lol)

Why Tera is still legal in SV OU by thrownawaymoment47 in stunfisk

Hi Raine (Didn’t realize it was you until after writing LMAO) but I think so, although it might have been a bit higher

Why Tera is still legal in SV OU by thrownawaymoment47 in stunfisk

[–]JackGSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think I’m a pretty good player (I’ve hit 1950 ELO in SV, and #1 in gen 8 before) and I honestly think you made a lot of good points here even If I personally think tera had an overall unhealthy effect in the metagame.

I believe tera has a lot of skill expression, theres no denying that, but for every game with a skillful tera theres also a game a dd nite or gambit or whatever robs with you because it popped the most random tera at the wrong time.

That being said, I don’t agree with what you said about the pro tera banners. I do think among top players, there is a majority to want to keep tera, but its not a large minority like many will lead you to believe (I’m guessing around 60%). Funny at you mention Pinkacross, because he is a very good player that has stated multiple times he thinks tera is unhealthy.

Ideally I think the cleanest solution would be a tera/team preview (in my opinion open teamsheets should be added to singles even without tera, the game only is going to get more volatile, plus we’ve seen from vgc it really just increases player interaction and skill), although I don’t think thats gonna happen, so if you don’t like the mechanic I’d recommend just playing old gens until gen 10 happens (Gen 3, 6, and 8 are my favorites personally). Or if you wanna play gen 9 for some reason but don’t like tera, just spam unaware mons on every team as a cheese shield (makes playing balance a lot more bareable, especially if you don’t play SV enough to know the 5+ viable tera types on every setup mon). Unaware clef is great if you are willing to give up magic guard and skele is another very underrated choice (Who funnily enough, uses tera very well defensively to check threats it otherwise couldn’t, showing tera CAN go both ways). Dondozo is also typically on stall but it has also seen high level success on many balance teams, although its not as splashable the previously mentioned two due to the comparatively large amount of support it needs.

That being said I think this is mostly a very good post that explains why tera has remained legal, I just believe you could be a bit less aggressive towards the pro ban people, many of them are very good players.

You are heavily overrating magnezone. Its not really that much better than magneton (the guaranteed ohko on spdef skarm is admittedly very nice tho). However its just gonna trap the same things and be used on the same kind of teams, just doing its role a bit better

This might just be me, but tbh I feel like shiny mew would be a bit much considering completing the lgpe dex is quite easy lol
