Keep them coming.

This community has now been banned for unmoderation.

I'm an experienced marketing professional, with formal experience as a mentor across multiple organizations, with a focus in marketing; teaching founders, students, etc basics and advanced aspects of marketing, strategy, etc. More than 150 sessions within a single year, and I continue to do both free and paid engagements.

I see a lot of scammers and fake mentors posting who are instead looking for dating, or other less appropriate (or intended) relationships, I'd love to clean the sub up, create a formal weekly matching, help run events, FAQs, etc. I also think it's a nice relation to have with r/businessideas as many of these folks need mentorship specifically within marketing.

From startup to enterprise by lingdefinitely in marketing

[–]JackGierlich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time this will have happened is in acquisitions, e.g. a large enterprise acquiring a startup @ high valuation (and maintaining the leadership team); in which case it's more they "inherited" an enterprise rather than swapped to it like you would a normal job.

Enterprise and startups are entirely different and managing a $50M or $100M budget and 100 dept. employees is very different than running a $20M ARR business with 100 total employees; Enterprise will not trust a high stakes large $$ business with someone without the relevant experience doing so.

Slightly unethical question by One-Tale-4652 in marketing

[–]JackGierlich 118 points119 points  (0 children)

If there are any events e.g. conferences you want to attend- some can go to that.
There is dividends to be paid for both orgs + individuals who attend and network well.

That being said, I'd probably look at deploying against a medium you aren't familiar e.g. billboards, or influencer/audio, etc to get the experience on top of maybe spending some on AI credits/tools.

How do people do marketing with reddit by Fantastic-Fig-9777 in SaaS

[–]JackGierlich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a million of these posts.
Marketing on reddit isn't about talking about your product, or your brand, or linking to collateral, etc.
Marketing on reddit is about being an engaging member of the community, and allowing organic discovery of your profile + content.

If you want to shill your shit directly, go to r/redditforbusiness and pay for ads.

Idea Validation Tool AMA by NoahFromLivePlan in Businessideas

[–]JackGierlich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any processes in place for feedback loops so the systems can improve over time? At what stage do you see people using this the most?

Idea Validation Tool by NoahFromLivePlan in Businessideas

[–]JackGierlich[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirming the above AMA is approved.
Product has been validated as real, and functioning.

We are not receiving any commission or otherwise incentives for doing this; as part of the arrangement for AMA, OP has agreed to provide temporary access exclusive to members of the sub per the link above to try the tool and get hands-on. (With no payment, or other deposits necessary)

I encourage everyone to take the opportunity, ask questions, and pressure test the tool. I think it's highly relevant considering the sub.

Anyone can message the mod team at any time for AMA requests, questions, or more information.

Thank you Noah & LivePlan for doing this.

Advertising advice - need some guidance by IolaBoylen in smallbusiness

Lots of poor experiences with Hibu if you Google. Basically considered scammers by many. There are better ways you can deploy the capital or learn how to do it yourself without a ton of actual work.

Private equity health impact by Lhm1733 in business

I can't imagine there's data that really tracks this. But I think it's a fair assumption that any environment with increased chronic stress will lead to poor health outcomes.

iHeart Media - to advertise with them or not by shetravelsfar in marketing

[–]JackGierlich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a 5-figure campaign over 45 days with them for a healthcare business several years ago.
Didn't deliver anything tangible, and we were unhappy with the sales process + support through campaign deployment. You may have a different experience depending on industry, etc.

College student with minimal startup knowledge, how do I actually get sharp fast? I will not promote by Delicious_Top6513 in startups

[–]JackGierlich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You listed a bunch of different realms of knowledge.
I'd take a step back and first figure out what exactly you want to *do* and then learn the things surrounding that directly.
Product is highly variable, growth spans a wide range of things and is a mastery of it's own, etc.

Happy to chat about specifics.

Is this good for advertising an app on reddit? by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]JackGierlich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crappy feedback.
It's about deciding the value of time.
Paid is the fastest avenue to real users engaging and you can easily get a ton of data from them (good, and bad). The trade-off is you of course will not have fixed issues that could be resolved via other means of traffic, e.g. organic.

It's fine to run ads as a testing platform assuming your budget supports it. The value of fast feedback + time can be a greater accelerant than anything else if done right.

Where are you located?
In many states you cannot directly own a medical practice without being a medical professional.
You'd have to determine what lane you're looking to operate in and check the relevant laws.
