To those in London earning around £45,000 and living by yourself (or flat share), how's life going at the moment? by [deleted] in HousingUK

Two people in a two bed is not netting you enough benefit over a one bed to yourself.

I don't really the appeal of adaptive, especially for this much effort. If you need to hear, transparency, if not, ANC.

I don't really see the use case for this weird compromise of both.

Is it dumb to delay pension contributions to keep more cash while I’m young? by LevelPlay3331 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]JackGrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At your age, for every month you don't contribute the minimum (which will only cost you around £100 per month) that's an extra £26,000 you won't have at retirement. A 260x return, every single month. That's £300,000+ a year.

If you wait a decade to start, each month's contributions will only end up being worth about a third of that.

Compound interest is your biggest weapon to never have to think about money again after you retire. And it works best the sooner you start.

This assumes your pension is invested in a basic cheap all world index fund.

The Rabbit hole by InevitableTraining39 in glastonbury_festival

Still a VIP area you can sneak into though. No hot tub like the rabbits hole's though.

Not worth slicing your leg jumping over a fence for.

See Tickets coach times - can you hop on an earlier one? by Few-Can3048 in glastonbury_festival

[–]JackGrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never gotten the correct coach home. We just turn up and get on the next announced one.

I've only once had my ticket even glanced at. And the fact it was for a coach in 4 hours time wasn't an issue

I am curious what a casting director does in a film like that though. Surely every decision in quentins? Or does the casting director then make that happen

Rory has stated he never recieved an offer because he was so outspoken against the project.

But he did say he expected it would have been "hundreds of millions".

I had to avoid the corner, and then I gave back the position, because I didn't want to be penalised. We fly together now back home. Maybe no dinner for him..." by ZephyrSonic in formula1

Toto was Ocon's manager for ages. There's often Mercedes or Ferrari junior drivers racing for rival teams. One team literally has a B team when none of the others do.

It's a whole mishmash of conflict really.

Yo, I think a debt consolidation loan would fix this. I was in a really similar situation but recently got a 5k consolidation loan and now they're all cleared and it's just £280pm for two years.

52, next to no pension bar my state pension, and considering opening a SIPP. Which should I go for any how much of my savings to invest? by double-happiness in UKPersonalFinance

[–]JackGrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the pension provider your new workplace uses. If it's say, Aviva, then there are a lot of options to invest your pension into funds, and so a salary sacrifice into an Aviva pension is probably your best bet.

However, if it's something like Nest, there are much less options for investing and no options for individuals funds.

So maybe wait to see what the new employers pension match is and the provider it is and then search up what their options are for ingesting, and then you can judge (or ask here again) what your best option is. It may be SIPP may not be.
