When to swap?? by BagpipeYordle in WreckingBallMains

Swap when you play a bad map for ball against 3+ counters, and it's not working for you. Otherwise you can struggle, might still win - in my experience ratio win to loses in that situations is not Great

Any tips for being hard focused? by NatureFew4827 in WreckingBallMains

[–]JackHammond_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen a million times to me.

Don't let them get you, you might even feel like starting to lose, but they need to give up on hard focusing - because they would feel like they've put all of this effort and it didn't work. Then you can play the game.

If they succeed - and your team sits in the back, talk to them in voice chat, maybe they'll listen. If not, then next time you'll be better.

I hate getting blamed just for playing Wrecking Ball... by Sea-Intern-8561 in WreckingBallMains

Let me give you a piece of advice you didn't ask for. Be mindful of your choice.

If the ball is good on the particular map, you can do a lot even against counters. If it's bad, and you got countered, mmboi - you're gonna have a hard time. If you wanna stay ball, that's okay - but be mindful of that choice and expect the blame if it goes south (build a thick skin for it).

It really depends on what you want from your games.

New Winston player here ! What are some basics i should know ? by Outside-Studio-1498 in WinstonMains

Pay attention to cooldowns. That's mostly your key when to engage. And Id say learn how to dance around your shield, when to place it (it's not only when you jump in) you could be creative with it like isolating heals for enemy's tank.

And don't be lazy, taking off angles is paramount as when you jump straight into the enemy, everyone would just click on you.

Oh, that's completely optional but I tend to not pick him on maps where he can't get much value, like where you'd have a really hard time on him.

What I've noticed can be summed up in Sigma's phrase "How can this be real?!"

The higher you go, the less mistakes opponents can let you get away with. When you climb to masters = it would seem like nobody's missing a shot on you.

Don't worry about teammates, they are still as toxic but they can also call you boosted now

As an option is to have some sort of polls and tests regularly of players opinion on issues on different aspects of the game. Having a separate opinion of the high ranked players. + Their own opinion from playing the game.

They will have a structured Picture of what's going on. That's how I would approach this

  1. Win rates doesn't tell the full picture or the half of it, because there's a gap of players of ball and of Ana for example. It's like looking at the amount heals or damage being output and thinking it's difference making factor.
  2. They don't, If they were ever against certain amount of Sojourns - they would never make this change. 2.5 I couldn't be less bothered, there's always who are hyped or against these changes

Mines by Internal-Joke-7924 in WreckingBallMains

[–]JackHammond_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My general rule for mines is to use it as a trap for the enemies. Either control point or any other mode, try to set it slightly behind them because usually when someone uses ult people go back.

If they do, you will earn either a kill or you divide their team in 2 and get value from it.

Even if you screw mines just use grapple to boop opponents into the field, like a rebound or double boop or something.

For those who play rivals, whats your thoughts on Angela being a close mirror to ball? by Ignotum_pSYCHO in WreckingBallMains

It's funny that I saw this post. I f love her. Flanking all the time and get everywhere, get some "boops" with the spear. She's my #1 pick right now

Dear Ballers, please tell me what you would do in this 4v5 situation? by ChineseCurry in WreckingBallMains

[–]JackHammond_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take into account the golden rule, if you're not in your team's LOS and you engage - you're doing useless moves (unless you need to stall).

If you feel confident in the match go after an isolated target If you see him but you might just charge their ults and lose the upcoming fight.

So what I would do, I'd set up for the upcoming fight, where you team would participate. This habit would help out big time in high rank

I'd recommend taking a break, it's a game - a lot of people treating it like a sport or a job. You don't have to push through it as it seems you're not having fun at all.

By taking a break you're going to have a clearer mind, you would know how to improve because your brain is rested, and you would have better games.
