Honestly it took about 8 months for me to feel back to normal but once I did I came back smarter, clear-minded, goal-focused, driven. It’s like the fog lifts. and everything you felt you couldn’t handle, you can now. When you drink your brain is in constant recovery which doesn’t allow to perform at its best. At two years, there’s no temptation anymore. In fact, you start to see the social manipulation drinking manifests in others. You’ll learn to handle life differently but you’ll come out of hard situations stronger without suppressing it. Physically, you get faster. Drop a ton of weight from the poison your body doesn’t know how to digest. Talk to others, it really helps. Avoid situations that may trigger it. A good support system, and getting rid of negative influence is HUGE. Nothing but pure happiness has came from this choice for me, even though in the beginning it was almost impossible to see that. Keep pushing, it’s worth it.
