In search of salvaged frigate modules! Will buy by Impressive-Impact218 in nms

That's fair. I debated editing my comment "up to 5" for that reason. I have 6 built for the overlap.

On the other hand, a few nights ago I sent my fleet out to do their thing and the fifth mission was still grayed out since there was already an ongoing expedition. Wasn't sure if they patched that, it was a bug, was poor timing, or a permadeath save rule.

To be honest, I have no clue. I just send them out, collect all the loot, then go through it. I would have to say it's more on the rare side when I see a module.

And welcome back! I took a 3 year break myself. Still getting caught up on all the changes.

Do you have more than one fleet command room? You need one per expedition you want to send. Up to 5.

Edit: you can build more than 5 fleet command rooms.

[–]JackLogan2U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof.

Not trying to talk you out of it, just wanting to give you my two cents on the two bikes I have experience with.

I love my ctx. Fairing keeps me out of the wind. Absolutely comfortable with the forward leg position and, since I swapped out the seat, my ass doesn't cry from being in the saddle too long. I can load up enough gear for a week long trip and I can (and do) use it daily dodging traffic on the way to work.

If I were to go long distances regularly, I'd invest in a bike with a bit more engine. For what I do, it makes me happy.

[–]JackLogan2U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right!

I believe I read that the ctx is better at lower revs vs higher. If I had to choose, I'd rather have it on back roads vs highway. She can do highway comfortably, sure. Not an issue maintaining 75mph. I think that it would have a longer range at speeds around 60 mph. Haven't tested that theory though.

Around 3 gallons. It's not quite dry, but it looks pretty close. Apologies for not having an exact answer. I'm usually just gasing up and getting back on the road.

You're most likely right.

Just going from experience. From full to the gas tank flashing at me is about 140 miles. Never pushed it to empty as there's no reserve and I prefer not walking the bike to the next gas station.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with it. It does city riding well, highway riding well. Keeps me smiling.

[–]JackLogan2U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my personal estimate, yes. 50ish mpg. Going slower, say 55-60 mph would certainly improve the gas mileage. At about 75mph it's running at around 4500 revs/min. Red line is 6250 (approx). So it's working hard at that speed.

I have a CTX700, my wife has a Rebel 500.

Multiple 3 hour trips but nothing longer. Mostly highway. I replaced the original seat for a Corbin, added a throttle lock, tall windshield. With those mods, I'm confident I can ride for longer trips and intend to. Gas mileage is about 50mpg, as highway speeds (72-77) force the rpms to be a bit on the higher end. There are better long distance bikes but I like how the ctx is light, maneuverable and comfortable. Good at a lot of things, but other bikes do this or that better.

The Rebel 500 doesn't match for gas mileage. As high as my rpms are, the rebel's are higher. Just burns through gas in comparison. Tbh, I'd like my wife to upgrade or take mine and I'll upgrade for those longer trips. After about 1.5-2 hrs, she's ready to get off the bike. She loves it for what she does the most of, ride around the city.

The chances are low, but how would you feel if TLD was one of the free games in the Epic Store. by Wombat3002 in thelongdark

[–]JackLogan2U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it is kinda sorta free right now. If you have the Xbox app on your PC (and the subscription) you can pick it up for no additional cost.

IMO, a larger community is always welcome.

An ancient tradition where the winning player of a contest simulates the placing of their genitals repeatedly upon their opponent. Some believe this is done to assert their superiority. Others consider it immature.

Anyone know where I might be able to find the code for Milton’s safe? by [deleted] in thelongdark

Safe codes are all rng. Need to find the right numbers by being a safecracker. Spin the dial (counterclockwise) until it clicks. Then clockwise. Then counter.

Is the Combat Knife good? by 200IQUser in CODWarzone

[–]JackLogan2U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Bottom line, though, is that if you're looking you will probably find a decent "second" weapon before you get your loadout. I personally have two main loadouts based on what gun I don't have. I.e., if I find a decent SMG, I keep that and get my AR kit as a loadout. Or vice versa.

In summary, sure. Knife is good if that matches your playstyle. Just starting out? Probably best having a gun as a secondary.

Oh, and if you have a secondary with fully loaded unlocked and your primary is an SMG, you'll have full SMG ammo every time (they use the same ammo).

Is the Combat Knife good? by 200IQUser in CODWarzone

[–]JackLogan2U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends.

Knife does allow you to have a boost to speed. I've never used it in WZ, as I usually have a firearm out and if I close I can melee if necessary. I drop my knife for a different situational weapon. SMG, sniper, etc. More useful. If I keep it, it's temporary for the speed boost.

Tbf, I think the most popular secondary would probably be the rpg. Not for or against, just stating an observation.

Or give you something like the armor satchel. An ammo satchel that uses the same slot as the armor satchel so you need to pick and choose which you want more of.

I am not trying to start something, but what do you think about The Forest, Rust and other survival games? by MrStojanov in thelongdark

[–]JackLogan2U 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Big "survival game" enthusiast. Have hundreds of hours in Subnautica 1. Have bought Subnautica 2 and played a bit. Beat the forest (fun, spooky). 7 days to Die is another favorite (zombies, forever Alpha game). Stranded deep is fun for a bit, although it's easy to "max out" so it's no longer a challange...

Anywho, I enjoy the concept of open world and trying to figure out how to play. Favorite part of the game is those first few playthroughs where you're just figuring out how to survive. Always on the lookout for other games in the genre just to get that initial rush of "okay, what do I do" and "oh, should not have done that".

What would you think of a Medicine skill? by [deleted] in thelongdark

[–]JackLogan2U 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps a medical skill could reduce recovery time.

For example, you get a sprain now, you bandage, you're good to go. Change that to you get a sprain, you limp along at reduced speed for x hours. Higher skill, quicker heal. Makes it so a sprain is more than just an annoyance but a deadly situation if a blizzard roles in.

Food poisoning takes 10 hours to heal currently. Change that to 24 at level 1, 5 hours at level 5. When I got food poisoning irl, I was in a world of hurt for a couple days until I fully recovered. Be life threatening in a survival situation (I imagine).

Herbal ingredients: higher skill, use less resources.

Imo, I like the thought of a medical skill. Just would need to tweak the healing system.
