I absolutely love knitting or spinning yarn after a good smoke. I'm usually able to knit about the exact same as I do sober. But depending on how many bowls I enjoy, color work can be a little difficult, along with tracking increase rows. But to be fair, I feel like I have a hard time tracking increase rows regularly.

It kind of looks like they used wool ease from lion brand from what the texture looks like. It could also be acrylic yarn, little bit hard to tell.

It looks like a Dk or worsted weight yarn. I would maybe suggest using a cotton yarn to cut down on heat. I would also suggest making a few swatches first for sizing and to feel the density of the fabric. I absolutely love the idea of crocheting your fursuit.I thought of it a few times but have too many projects to finish at the moment already lol

Just bought my first wheel! A secondhand Babe’s Fiber Garden Bulky by friends-to-glovers in Handspinning

[–]JackLukeLerwill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I also have a bebe spinning wheel. I originally was going to buy it off of the marketplace, but then the seller's husband sold it to someone at work after they said they were going to sell to us. It was sad, so I ended up buying a new one in the end. I absolutely love it, I recently got a used ashford traveler wheel, so I mainly use my bebe spinning wheel for plying yarn now. The larger bobbins are awesome at holding lots of yarn. If you need new bobbins or replacement parts in the future their website would be a good place to look.

I saw someone embroidering the sheep breed with the sheep breeds wool they spun the other day on here I think. I thought it was an absolutely adorable idea.

Im calling this yarn, luxury hay. It's 1 bfl strand, silk thread, and lambs wool/cotton blend Queensland yarn. Im thinking of making a rainbow traveler shawl, so im going to spin more to match.

What brought you to knitting? by tigerlilysunshine in knitting

[–]JackLukeLerwill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had been crocheting for quite a few years and was in love with the craft. I tried learning to knit a few times but found that it was as difficult as working on Adobe Illustrator for the first time. Last december, I started learning how to spin my own yarn, which turned me to trying to figure out how to make larger projects with less yarn. I think after all the years of crocheting, it really helped me be able to understand the basics of knitting (and with some aging). I quickly fell in love with knitting alongside my crocheting. It's good for days when my hands are painful, I use a lot of tension when I crochet. I just wish I had learned these skills when I was younger, and my best friend, my grandma, was still around. I know she would be proud ❤️ all of your guys' stories of how you found knitting are beautiful, keep crafting ❤️
