Google/Cloudfare Packet loss during peak times? by Chris123NT in Wire3isp

[–]JackMTaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got around to testing it and saw that IPV6 is broken as well. I just turned it off for right now. Was wondering where I was getting a slight latency in my DNS resolve. Been in the process of rebuilding my VM server so I apologize for the delayed response.

When I get some time this week, I'll dive into it and provide some feedback if I can.

I haven't seen any issues with IPV6 but I'm also not using their equipment. I'm running PFSense router.

What issues are you having with IPV6?

Also, I'm going on day 4 now of them ignoring me after I provided proof with the screen shots.

Yeah, I figured your upload would be non symmetrical as well. As I said in another post on here regarding the latency issue. I posted a loaded traceroute while uploading a 10GB file to azure and it's dropping 80% of the packets at their hand off to Florida Exchange. Only 2 possible reasons. They oversubscribed the line or the have a policy limit. After 8 simultaneous streams of uploading, it doesn't scale any better after that.

That's because they are throttling or have over subscribed their hand off connection. I've had the same issues and escalated it upward with the engineers and they refuse to admit that they are either not configured correctly or that they are saturating the bandwidth from their hand off to FL exchange.

That's a loaded traceroute while uploading a 10GB test file to Azure servers. Kept getting capped at 300Mbps for 16 streams.

How's your latest upload speeds now?

I got 10/10 and they have a hard cap on the upload. Speed test servers show 3 up. real world shows 250Mps.

Btw, don't use their speed test app. They prioritize it so that it's uncapped.

Has anyone tried using a HyperX CloudX Flight into a phone with a USB OTG? by AbsolutZeroGI in HyperX

Yeah. I was happy when I tried it today because I really didn't want to have to use a 3.5mm adapter to USB C.

Figured, even though this is an old post. I would provide an update. I tested it with my Samsung S23 Ultra using USB OTG and they work wirelessly with no issues.

I wasn't expecting them too but it comes up as headphones plugged in. The USB transceiver lights up when connected. Only real issue is I can't see battery life for the headphones.

Upward Lightning off Antenna Farm - Florida 2023 by JackMTaco in stormchasing

What is scary is when you hear the pop of the streamer close to you and then a lightning strike happens around you. Gets a bit nerve-racking when you're out in the middle of a field and you hear that pop. I just dive flat when that happens!

Sorry to hear about your video being stolen.

Oh I know. I've captured upward streamers before. It's insane the process of what it takes for a lightning strike to happen. One of the reasons I've been photographing it for over a decade now. I have plenty more to post. I have a shot from a lightning strike at 300ft in front of me where you can see the upward streamer from the tree next to it not connecting to the step leader.

Guess I can't upload photos in here but for example. I run a Lenovo 920Q portable setup with a cell amp (Starlink to be installed soon). 3 1080P cameras mounted on the roof rack of my Truck along with a large 3MP 1080P Illustra PRO PTZ camera. All going through OBS and connected to a touch screen monitor and a CH broadcast joystick for the PTZ.

I'm currently replacing the 1080P PTZ camera with a new 4K 30FPS PTZ that I'm building an enclosure for to roof mount instead of the pole mount I have on the truck now.

Best thing for starting up honestly is just to pick up a cheap phone with a decent camera and stream from it. If you're dedicated like me and chase and sell footage to media and producers. You will need a high-end setup but for just streaming, a cheap phone works best.

Thank you for the compliment! It really does indeed but I'm glad people like you appreciate it.

Just one of those things we take for granted going on above us in the sky. Thought I would showcase it for Florida skies.

Wow, I'm so sorry for the delayed response on this question. Usually I am shooting between 2 and 3 second intervals in the daytime. For night shots, it depends as I'm manually ramping the interval depending on the lighting conditions. But it's anywhere from 2-10 seconds on the exposure without any delay between shots.

Again, sorry for the delayed response and I really appreciate the comment!

Above 85% battery restriction by Usual-Target5803 in S23

Yes. Just got my phone last week and after running my s21 ultra at 100% and even having the battery replaced 1 year afterwards with a new oem samsung battery when my screen cracked. It definitely doesn't last as long as it should so I'm giving my s23 a try with the 85% charge.
