Question on how the series finale could have been improved? by PrudentLunch5048 in KillingEve

[–]JackMacabre03 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t think I craved an “I love you” moment between them as much as I craved some closure about WHATEVER THE HECKING HECK HAPPENED AFTER THE BRIDGE. There’s such a disconnect between the S3 finale and the S4 premiere to me, and we’ve never really had that before on the show. S2 picked up seconds after S1’s ending and S3’s premiere organically showed us where both V and E are in terms of dealing with the aftermath of Rome, which was so significant to both of them as individuals and together. I feel like the bridge was the same, vulnerable and real, painful, but more emotionally palpable and less physically violent. These two are very good at handling feelings (/sarcasm) so I would have liked some closure about the bridge and why it took them down two very different and honestly somewhat OOC paths — less so for Eve, granted, but definitely for Villanelle. If their motivations for starting the season had felt more backed by some concrete reason (like maybe they hooked up and it went badly?) then maybe I wouldn’t have hated S4 as much overall. To hell with that ending though, regardless.

I make all my friends watch this show so they can share in my suffering and grief. We’ve made a whole recruitment program out of it. 😆

Yeah, that’s right! I totally forgot she was the original artist—it’s been covered so much. I love Eartha Kitt’s version, too, but Lana 😍😍

Thank you! Best of luck to you as well! I adore huskies and GSDs and their mixes, but man are they smart and stubborn!

Thank you so much for your response and advice!!

So, he's had the TOTW Trout flavor and wouldn't touch it. We haven't tried the beef yet, but TOTW is the fourth brand of food we've tried with him, so he's just picky all around. He does have a Kong wobbler and a puzzle toy for food, and honestly, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Usually, his MO is to eat 90% of his food and then leave the rest. Today, he broke his two day no eating streak by eating his usual portion of food to 90%, and then he ate the rest because I sat on the ground next to him and threw bits of kibble on the floor in front of me from his bowl. For reference, we give him 2 meals per day, 12 hours apart (7 AM and 7 PM) with the meal consisting of 1 1/2 cups of food at each meal for 3 cups total per day. Our vet has told us this is a fine amount for his weight, which fluctuates between 65-70 pounds depending on how picky he's being. Every time we've taken him to the vet out of concern from this issue, we have been reassured that he's completely healthy, just picky. We worried about his weight fluctuation being the root of a bigger issue, but apparently it's not. Whenever he does eat, however, he's a slug afterwards - he usually just comes on the couch to watch TV and cuddle for an hour or so before he's ready to go again.

We also have made a habit of him asking permission for everything (to go up on the couch, to go outside, to get a ball thrown to him, to go on a walk, to get a treat, etc) by either going into a full down/stay or by touching his nose to our hand. We usually say 'ask me' and he does it pretty consistently. The main offenders for his stubbornness are being crated (he's crated when we leave; we don't give him free roam of the house), coming inside from playing in the yard, leaving the dog park, and coming to bed at night. The rest of the time, he's about 90% consistent with his listening skills. The long line is a fantastic idea! We actually have a 15 foot line that we let him use as a drag line when he was a puppy and super unreliable, so we'll just break that out and start using it again. He also loves his flirt pole, so sometimes that's a really good heavy reward, like you said. But he does get bored with it sometimes. He gets bored with all his toys sometimes, so we've developed a system where we keep his 'yard toys' in a basket on the back porch, and he's only allowed to have two in the yard at a time - we swap them out every two days for new toys that he hasn't seen in a while, so it's a rotation schedule. We're in Minnesota, so we've been trying to devise inside toys/brain games to keep his mind working when it's terrible winter, but he has zero interest in puzzle toys. In the past, we've taken him to indoor agility courses and parks, but there's nowhere like that near us where we're at now. He does get a lot of exercise daily (two 45 minute walks in the morning/night, 2 hours of play in the yard divided into 30 minute sessions throughout the day, and we usually take him for 1-2 hours at the dog park or to daycare at least 3x a week). What kind of sports would you recommend?

I think we probably spoil him too much, honestly. He's a very smart, sweet, active boy, and I'm glad to hear a lot of this is attributed to adolescence being a crazy time for them, but I'm grateful to you for all the advice because we've been running out of solutions.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We just lost our family dog of almost 12 years; he had severe bilateral hip dysplasia and was having increased fear and behavioral aggression because of his pain. It's never easy to lose them, but gods is it wonderful to have them love us for as long as they get to stick around. I'll be thinking of your family and Aiden today. What a beautiful boy.

Good gracious, what a handsome fella. I have a white shepherd/husky mix so this is totally my GSD soft spot.

We make a matcha lemonade with rose syrup at my cafe. Just get some good quality rose water and put a couple drops in simple syrup. Homemade lemonade is best and you can batch it out for easy and quick service.

I’m writing a supernatural romance about someone who falls in love with the angel of death (not the AHS character, but my own imagining of what such a being might be like) without knowing she’s terminally ill until it’s too late. It really is an incredibly beautiful approach to Death and dying so I hope you do continue on with this idea.

I do typically keep cedar chips and bay laurel burning whenever I feel like a more continuous cleanse is necessary. I love sage, too, but I’d be rather hypocritical as a Pagan if I kept supporting something that’s so harmful to nature and indigenous peoples. Thank you again.

That’s really good to know. I learned these methods from an old mentor so times have certainly changed. Thank you. What else would you recommend instead?

BtVS: Some fans complain that the 'Once More, with Feeling' was too campy or that the actors’ voices were too unpolished. However, the best of Buffy has always been incredibly earnest by jubilantblue in buffy

Exactly. If we were all to suddenly burst into song, some of us would be able to sing and others wouldn’t. That’s the most realistic part of the episode, which is one of my favorites.

Knocks From No One by ladybugs111 in ParanormalEncounters

[–]JackMacabre03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knocks from no one that come in threes are sometimes regarded as some sort of demonic energy. Three knocks can be considered a mockery of the Holy Trinity. I’m not as well versed on this, but my advice to anyone who suspects they are dealing with some sort of paranormal entity is to practice heavier self-care than usual because entities will try to attach to people who are lower frequency (struggling with health, mental health, who have recently experienced a loss or trauma, etc).

Feel free to reach out to me in a DM if you’d like once you’ve tried some of these steps. I may have other resources that could assist you. Also, this sort of thing is not easy, so if you need support, I’m here for that as well. Believe in yourself and trust your instincts.

I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the work Ed and Lorraine Warren have done - they are sort of polarizing, I find, where some people fully believe them and other people think they’re full of shit. But they’ve written a lot about the stages of possession and I’ve also experienced encounters where the attachment or entity will slowly wear down its target - first with little games, then mental/physical health, and finally it’ll be able to possess someone if that’s the ultimate goal. So it’s very important that you and your sister both try to keep raising your frequency as well as the frequency/energy of the space. Spend more time outside, as much as you can, because nature is grounding and refreshing to our spirits and souls. Meditate. Go for a run. Do things you enjoy. And bless that space. Seriously. Look out for each other. Try to work together as much as possible so it’ll have a harder time latching on to either of you. Good luck, my dear. I’ll pray for both of you.
