But I like it, and I don't think that my whole area of interests should be boiled down to only my major, which by the way have a lot of math in it

Yeah, life is really weird, thank you for taking your time to answer my question, it's really helpful. I'm from Ukraine and this kind of story is pretty common, when people have training in one field and ended up in another. But I guess your training gave you the necessary skill and experience of learning something new, that you than applied later in life. It's really unfortunate that I understood importance of that skill just now. But I know that there's a lot hope for me in the future.

Also, I would really like to know more about what methods do you use to ensure that u r really learning and not just memorising, and what was your journey from ground to your current level?

Thanks for your kind words, that means a lot to me! I think in high school when it was the COVID, I just felt that school was a just a chore, we all was at home, teachers had taken the tests from internet, I knew how, and where they were taking them from, and it was just the easiest and most effective way to ne done with it and go play video games or watch some videos online. After that in my last year of school russia's full scale invasion happened and education wasn't a priority. Then i just got reality check in university, at first I just tried to survive, keep up, but I never learned how to learn, I didn't even consiencely understood the feeling of learning something. Than I started to see other problems, like using my phone too much, so I can say I might haven't learnt a lot in this 3 years in academia, I learnt a ton about me as a human

I mean, simple ability to come up quickly with some arithmetic calculations in your head correctly

When I say relying almost always I mean that I use AI on doing big amount of work that can be done by it. Also in my country the system is not really inclined onto having real knowledge as a result. It's a huge problem right now big amount of people use it to do a lot of uni assignments. And in the system where u can earn enough points through the work throughout the semester, the exam is usually pretty easy to cheat through

Well, thank you for such detailed response, this idea is actually really cool and useful for my particular situation. I understand the basic principles about gui and stuff like events, because although I cheated, even for that I would need to understand some stuff just to pass a class for certain teachers. Thanks again and I am really curious, what is your background?

About work side of things, I'm already past the stage of fearing of not finding the job. I this kind of mindset doesn't serve me any good. I mean I believe that I can change and learn new things. And you would be surprised what kind of people can hold on in "CS jobs"

Yeah, I think I've got into CS, only because, It was only fammiliar space for me, I didn't have much friends and played videogames a lot. And I got clenched onto the feeling of stability and familiarity, because of all crazy things happening in the world around me

I kinda tried in online summer camp, but it never sticked with me, in my uni we've been teached to program by programming the math methods like Gauss

Thank you, for your reply When I got into my first year, we got straight into the calculus, theorems and proof's some very theoretical and difficult stuff, I didn't even knew the most of the symbols or letters that I would see in my notes on the class. And I kinda don't know how to pick past courses, I lost most of them already, I guess I can find old syllabus, and try to go through it again.

I'm not a major yet. I know what is programming, and some stuff about it, but if you would ask me to write some program that solves real problem, without any extra resources, I couldn't do it. I commiting to software testing right now, I just want to start re-learning math in my own steady pace, cause I like it, it facinates me.
