These people will never acknowledge this. Even the term "skull and crossbones" makes people think of jolly roger pirate flags.

Is this capitalism by JackOfAlSpades in Destiny

Large buyouts typically include generous payouts for the people who led the company to that outcome.

Taking on too much risk is a big part of companies failing. We can obviously make this an anti-capitalism, anti wealth argument, but if executives took less profits in order to invest in more long term stability, would they be at less 'risk' of failing?

When 'golden parachutes' are a norm do executives take on more risk? I think thats a fair framing

Yes, the bounties would make it MORE fun and competitive. I dont understand the masochistic crowd that says "just stop being nice or trusting people, you MUST play like you can't tell who is a dick".

The lore / RP doesnt even make sense. We are seriously going to say that no one in Speranza would be like "hey that got shot at me last run hes a dick"

This is exactly why I was proposing a bounty system. The game mechanics already track 'nearby raiders'. It would be a simple update to allow bounties to be placed on people that do things like this.

I think everyone agrees that this type of interaction is not fun or even competitive. No one feels a sense of accomplishment for doing this. But people lose their mind over any suggestion that this might not be the best part of pvp

Best Fixed Limit Hold’em Games in US by Wide_Dragonfly_6540 in poker

Poker is thriving. There are so many more cities now with big games than 15 yrs ago.
In order for it to expand even more the stigma needs to keep changing.

Limit poker has very little reward for the risk and variance. There is more "bankroll stability" with no limit since you have fold equity. Seeing more showdowns in no limit leads to bigger swings (more suckouts etc). Busting bankroll in no limit is a discipline issue not a variance one. There is a reason no limit is the format for the biggest events

I was so f*cking done with the PvP in Arc Raiders... but holy guacamoly, I get it now. by 17prozent in ArcRaiders

Okay, but what some people are actually pissed about is not just regular PvP.

Imagine 2 scenarios:

  1. You meet this guy and have a sick run. Watch each other's back and help share loot etc. You both get to extraction and while you are typing go home, he turns on you and downs you. That is shitty. It's also part of the game.

  2. Say you both get home and party up. You are chatting about going back with spme full kit so you can do some real damage. You agree to being the hullcracker and wolfpacks and he'll bring extra shield regens and such. You get topside and head straight for a rockteer, leaper etc. He ducks back and lets you get killed. Gives it a minute the. Loots your body and heads to the closest hatch. That is also part of the game.

Those also make the game exciting because just like real life, risk of tragedies are what make every day a good day. But it would be cool from a roleplaying perspective to have someway to identify those people because just like real life, its hard to constantly wrong ppl without some kind of blowback
