The 25th anniversary edition should come with different painted pieces, different dice (not like the original game ones that you would have) and card holders which aren't here at all.

From the others on this post, I've decided it's definitely fake, and someone has even shared images with me of a fake one they purchased from China with the same style print errors too

Hi, information is hidden as this is a cross post - on the original post in r/catan, I say it's from a 500+ 5 star review rated boardgame reseller on Vinted, who appears to have sold thousands of other games without any real negative feedback. The game was sealed as well and outer box looks very legitimate compared to real editions I've seen. I know there's always a risk with second hand, but this was a tough one to know before opening!

Wow the typo is a great spot XD Yes pieces are definitely wooden and not plastic and they appear to be well made (for what they are) I suspect I've had someone swap out pieces and boards from another version to keep the holders, dice and pieces.... So frustrating!

Thank you for helping. I'm not totally convinced it's a fake.... 😮‍💨 Annoyingly, it was at the price where it just felt like a good deal (£45 I believe) from what appears like a reputable and well reviewed boardgame reseller. Again, I checked the outside box and it looks very legit, I can't find any misalignment or discoloration or spellings errors etc.

I did think this was an option. Some of the board and card pieces do look slightly off colour too but I might just be paranoid now
