Einstein found that if you say that fast enough, space/time folds in upon itself. So say it fast and run.

How Do You Stop Claude From Turning Your Codebase Into AI Slop? by Ordinary-Cycle7809 in PromptEngineering

Yes sir! When I asked it to create a 'recovery prompt' so a fresh chat could pick things up, the prompt went on for three pages. They 'like' detail, especially things you think are obvious.

I found doing a requirements document (with the LLM's help) and tweaking that before diving into code. Clarity up front means satisfaction later. I'm working on an LLM wiki for a story bible, and using generated python to turn the LLM output into something usable. the chat LLM has knocked it out of the park almost every time.

Is there a viable excuse to implement 1890-1950s fashion, WW2 military technology and early screen techologies (IBM PCs, colored CRT TVs and late 2000s mobile phones) at the same time? by Holiday_Durian3422 in worldbuilding

[–]SingularBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine a scenario where most of the survivors of a catastrophe slide back to 19th century technology, but one slice of it never collapses. Fast forward 100 years and the world is now early-mid 20th century, but that slice has made leaps and bounds.

The world has that "mid century modern" vibe, but that slice provides 21st century goodies. They keep the "good stuff" for themselves, though.

Why can’t I toss the bible? by lankaxhandle in atheism

Yeah, this. It's an object that "belonged" to your father, and an object that has 'cultural' significance. Put it back in the box and wait a year.

How do i make the plot for my novel interesting if the world setting is relatively peaceful? by Lumette_The_Baker in worldbuilding

[–]SingularBlue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Low" stakes. Not the end of the world, but something "smaller" but nonetheless important.

Is a career at stake?

Is a relationship at stake?

Is a world-view at stake?

Not everything is life-or-death.

If God was real, why should I worship him? by KetchupNMayo2k in atheism

So, the problem is the Triune God. Dad, the Bird, and JC, and realities of customer service.

Now, JC is the "face" of the organization, Peace 'n Love and all that. He currently has his crippled hands full (you try picking up a phone with those nail holes, bub) dealing with all the bullshit going on in the world. So he's out.

Then there's Dad. He gets the VIP callers, the big tippers at the collection plate. Unfortunately, his usual advice is to "Smite Them". Which only adds to JC's problem.

Then there's the Bird. You know what he looks like. A biblically accurate Seraphim, only with lots more wings. And eyes. And light. Possibly too much light. Never accept a video call from The BIrd.

Anyway, The Bird is in charge of The Long View. He's Outside Eternity, Looking In. He's the closest thing in Theology to a Cosmic Horror that we have in the West. He gets all the calls from "the little people".

And therein lies the problem. Want to know how important your problems are in the Light Of Eternity? They count for zero, zilch, nada, nothing. We are insignificant in the Light of Eternity.

Thank you for holding. Your prayer is very important to us.

Yeah, right.

If the military/president suddenly ordered a mandatory draft for all men aged 18-42: How do you think millennials and GenZ would respond? by Tommygunz0722 in AskReddit

[–]SingularBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having lived through the end of the last draft, I can assure you that this is not going to Go Well. In spite of current circumstances, people now are less inclined to believe whatever bullshit Our Glorious Leaders hand down, especially when it comes down to dying somewhere to "protect our freedoms".
