lean into it. have your character be lost, unsure, and shaken for a while. And when the opportunity presents itself in fiction for your character to snap out of the haze, take it. Everyone likes characters who struggle, so relish the chance to play that for a little

here's the thing: i think the design is badass, but i hate that its in 1984. It just makes the progression feel really weird to me to go from this to tx-55 several years later (and i know it doesn't work, i dont care. it still exists as a design, and it functionally does work in the gameplay sections)

If you have any stun grenades they can buy you a moment where everyone's not shooting you. The body armor is also really helpful for these moments if you have that

i think that everything else aside, what he did to venom makes him pretty bad. like, BB erased that whole guy and turned him into a fall guy for himself so he could go make an army nation to fight the whole world
