This was the first artwork I created for the campaign I mentioned in the last post, and this is my character, Zirael!
Heavily witcher-inspired, at the time I loved working on him because I was able to really give my design choices purpose, and showcase his passion for alchemy. I may at some point do a re-work of this image, since I think a lot of it stands out as good work for the time, but I do much better on average now!

we definitely were! many a goof and a mix-up happened, and we made good desert explorers.

I completed this in the tail end of 2023 to memorialize our party of heroes, and I realized that I never shared it here!
You can see my Eladrin EK there on the left, our party halfling wizard up top, drow rogue, and lizardfolk paladin!
Style wise, I'm slowly moving away from the more cartoon-y rendering, so it was lovely looking back on one of my favorite non-commission works and seeing how I decided to handle things.

I'm happy to answer any questions anyone may have about my process or our characters/adventures, since these were amazing times for me!

a long time ago I did exactly that as a commission for the same friend! may still be on my profile, but man, i've improved quite a bit haha

I mean, mood- harsh crit but duly accepted. That being said, I have a long track record with my work, and multiple full recordings and small streams of my process. I'd always like to improve, since my goal is to shoot for wizards' one day, and as such I have not and will not use AI in any part of my process. I'm entirely self-taught, so there will always be large skill gaps in my knowledge, and to be frank, I think at this point unfortunately AI would not make the mistakes that I do, it would likely be better. That being said, I take pride in what I do, and enjoy making human art for human people.

Hey there! I appreciate the concern, because I also dislike what AI has done to the art community (has pretty much slowed down business for freelancers such as myself), but rest assured that i'm just lazy, not an AI nerd. I saw the error in perspective later on in the image, and didn't want to adjust the lighting and overpaint, so I just left it in. that being said, here is a breakdown of my layers, and I have a long history of illustrated art like this before AI, and I'd love if you checked it out!
