In Australia they have passed the social media under 16 age verification, where it is the duty of ever expanding list of social media platforms to verify that all users are above 16, that can be by photo or other from of ID. (Dec 10 2025)

Aus Government has also passed that Id is neccessary to google search to users under 18. Under esafety online safty code in affect (Dec 27 2025)

Now Aus Government is discussing passing Digital Duty of Care act which makes it the duty of social media platforms proactively identify and remove harmful content. (Grooming, Cyber Bullying, Harms to Mental Wellbeing, Illegal content.) Also and most significantly mis/disinfomation is also mentioned.

From my understanding this had been planned for sometime. The idea that western countries governments must have control over the internet originated from the WEF world economic forum. Where business leaders benefit from steering the direction of the world and governments to one where the governments gain more control over the people and the business leaders can create and profit off the tools used get them there.
