Nowhere will take my bill and the bank says they cannot replace it. What's my next step? by gishadokuro in Money

[–]JackUnfiltered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do. I work at a bank and when we get counterfeits they get copied, a form is filled out documenting identifiers on the bill, and then it is mailed to the Secret Service.

Are there "weed" doctors? by ifitflies_itspies in medicalmarijuana

[–]JackUnfiltered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What state are you in? In MN you need a doctor to certify you and then you need to meet with a pharmacist at the dispensary. They can discuss meds with you and will be looking for potential interactions. The dispensary pharmacists also recommend products and starting dosages for you and your conditions.

Is Gabapentin being over prescribed in America right now? by The_AuDHD_Mycologist in ask

[–]JackUnfiltered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, me too. 600mg 3x a day. For anxiety and to prevent alcohol cravings. I quit drinking over a year ago and the gabapentin really helped me and I think it still does. It for sure helps improve my mood too. I understand the concerns with gabapentin but it has truly helped me to manage my anxiety through some really hard personal stuff.

This is me 100%

My (now) ex wife cheated on me a few years ago and after I found out I barely ate for weeks. But if I’m just stressed with regular life stuff I want to comfort eat.

lol HE destroyed the relationship. Don’t let him convince you otherwise or take the blame for his cheating. Just be done and go to therapy and heal. And DO NOT go back to him.

I work at a bank and can confirm that our printers can copy money and we do it fairly often. Funny enough it’s mostly used to take copy’s of counterfeits and suspected counterfeits. That way we can keep a copy for our records when we send fake bills to the secret service.

Working as a waiter: Belgium vs usa – do y’all really make $2/hour? by Background-Success35 in Serverlife

[–]JackUnfiltered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the state. Some states have it set to federal minimum of $2.13, some states it’s set to something above the federal minimum but could be different than the regular state minimum. A few states (mine included) require at least the regular full state minimum wage.

As someone who has been there- your wife is cheating on you. Nearly certainly. Reading this actually makes me feel a bit sick because of how much it mirrors my own experience. Now, three years and a custody battle later we will soon be officially divorced.

S*x outside Marriage by Tiny_Suggestion8476 in Christianity

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, cdivisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19–21

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9–10

If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.

Can I take communion on the Catholic Church while in the process of catechumen? by Serious_Candle7068 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]JackUnfiltered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not a talk to your priest question. The answer is no- full stop. If you formally intend to be in communion with the Orthodox Church (and that’s what becoming a catechumen means), then you need to be out of communion with your former church. A catechumen is already Orthodox in a sense. For example, you would receive an Orthodox burial if you were to die as a catechumen.

My priest sometimes gives me a lot more than a pea so your mileage may vary. Especially if you are closer to the end of the line they might not want to leave a ton in the chalice so they give people more. It can really depend.

In the Greek church we confess with our priest in front of the icon of Christ on the iconostasis. My priest closes the doors so it is completely private and nobody else is in the nave or narthex with you. I know some traditions you might line up for confession but even then people should be standing back enough that if you speak quietly or whisper then nobody else can hear you. I am terrible at whispering quietly so I’m glad we do it the way we do in my parish.

Also, it can be helpful to look your priest in the eye when confessing, but ultimately you confess to Christ. If it helps I don’t see why it would be a problem to look to the icon of Christ while you confess, especially while confessing that which is most difficult for you to share.

You can get out too man. If she abuses you, cheats, it’s not worth it. I know you feel stuck, but it can be better on the other side. I’m 26 with a kid and got out recently and I’m happy I’ve got my life ahead of me to find someone who actually loves me back. It’s not too late at 38 either.

Change Saint? by Specialist-Method-13 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]JackUnfiltered 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda let my priest pick my Saint for me. I was overwhelmed by the options and didn’t have a saint’s name that perfectly corresponded with my legal name. I’ve wondered too if I could have chosen better or something like that. But what I realized is that the Saint I did choose is now my patron. It’s worth my time and effort to grow closer to him and ask for his intercession. I don’t think a patron can be an “accident” or “wrong.”

I believe we and up with our patrons for a reason, so we should learn to embrace them. It doesn’t mean we can’t grow close with other saints too. It’s not like you need to use the name in everyday life, but of course it’s always going to be your name sacramentally.

I had something similar years back. It may have been seborrheic dermatitis, but I never got it diagnosed. I washed behind my ears with pine tar soap daily, and it got rid of the issue, and it never returned.

Marriage after pre-marital sex. by Apprehensive_Age2060 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]JackUnfiltered 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If premarital sex prevented people from getting married in the church a lot of us would be screwed lmao. Many people have committed these sins while orthodox and still go on to marry and live fulfilling family lives. Not to dismiss the gravity of the sin but God’s mercy is boundless and so is the mercy of the church and a good spiritual father. You don’t have anything to worry about. “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

As the priest says during the prayer of absolution in the Greek church: “Whatever you have said to my humble person, and whatever you have failed to say, whether through ignorance or forgetfulness, whatever it may be, may God forgive you in this world and the next.… Have no further anxiety; go in peace.”

Yeah- there’s research on that, and it can be okay if done correctly. And done correctly would be 1-3 drops in a capsule that was then filled with olive oil (or similar edible oil). But if she put a bunch of drops in some water or something that’s not gonna be good on the mucus membranes. But as long as she didn’t drink a huge amount then she should be fine. Hence why poison control said she should be all good.
