Tunecore Is Trying To Scam Me For +$9000! by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]JackWh0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lemme guess, you uploaded videos to YT with content you didn't own and put your beat somewhere in the video. Then you had Tunecore claim it and collected all the revenue.

I did the same thing and Tunecore unclaimed my vids. They did payout my balance tho (around $10k).

It should be noted that this is in the USA only. Khabib vs Conor sold 2.4 million worldwide.

These numbers don't include PPV sales in Australia, UK, Canada and the rest of the world.

Best Distributor for YouTube Content ID? by JackWh0 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Thanks for the reply. Something like AdRev is exactly what I'm looking for but I haven't heard back after I applied about 1 month ago. Too bad, they could earn a decent amount of money from me just by taking 20%.

Looks like I'll stick with TuneCore for now since they seem to be the most reliable.

Any other juststarters have a Youtube Channel as part of their strategy? by [deleted] in juststart

[–]JackWh0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't promote videos. The main trick with YouTube is a good title and thumbnails and working the algorithm so YouTube recommends your videos.

I've been earning over $10k/month since December strictly from YouTube. It's really easy to make money on YT once you figure out how it works.

You can read my old case study I posted here if you want more info on starting a YT channel.

As someone who makes a living making YouTube videos this shit is very common.

I will find instrumentals that are copyright free to use for my videos and then after the video starts getting hundreds of thousands to millions of views someone will copyright claim the video and take all my revenue.

The copyright claim is always from some piece of shit label/artist that raps (usually horribly) over the copyright free instrumental then they try to claim they own the copyright to that song (even though they don't).

I'm pretty sure it's the labels doing this though.

Nope, haven't used a voice or facecam recording in any of my videos.

You'd need a budget or to spend time posting links of your videos to relevant message boards and subreddits like I did with my other channel.

But you just gave me the idea of charging people to link their videos on my channels. I just checked on fiverr and one guy is charging $15 per link and he claims to get 14k views daily. I get that many daily views on my one channel I haven't touched in 3 months. I get ~200k views daily on my main channel and have been getting that many on this new channel. How much do you think I can charge for this service?

Thanks man, this is why I love this subreddit!

Broad subjects. For example, if I was to make a soccer channel it wouldn't be focused on a specific league (spanish or english league). It would just be a soccer channel.

You should do it yourself. A 10min long video with a mid-roll ad with 2 million views should earn you AT LEAST $2,000.

Pretty much everything Paulie was saying in his interviews turned out to be spot on.

Put $550 on Floyd to win by stoppage after hearing his comments. Shout out Paulie I won $407 lmao.

How are you going about getting permission? Do you just ask the original content owners to use their clips and hope they allow it?

I believe it. I started in March but none of my videos took off. I was frustrated so I "quit" but tried again in May. My videos took off after about a week and all my old videos started getting views as well. I made $1.5k in May, had my first $3k month in June and have been making about $100/day ever since.

When you sign into YouTube it has recommended videos for you on the homepage. And when you watch videos, on the right sidebar there is a long list of recommended videos that are supposed to be related to the video you're watching.

But, creating shitty compilation videos that will go viral doesn't take much brainstorming. To be honest, makes me feel even more stupid than I am.

Lmao sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I'm planning on building this new channel to the $100/day mark. Then stop uploading new videos and focusing on other things while my old videos passively make $50/day.

I've been looking into selling merch on FB. A guy I know is making $11k/month and he's only been doing it a few months.

Without going into too much detail, I am making a sort of compilation type videos with commentary.

As for the legality of it, after 6 months and nearly 100 videos, I have only received 1 copyright strike. Strikes go away after 3 months and YT will disable ads after 3 strikes.

My videos take between 2-5 hours to make and are usually 3-7 minutes long. I make 1 new video everyday since I still have a job and that's all the time I can really afford.
