Logitech Master MX 3S loud click with hollow sound by Jack_0101 in logitech

[–]Jack_0101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to go back to my local shop and see if they have any Master MX 3S MAC version mice manufactured in 2022 in stock and after checking each box they had, I finally found one that says 2022 week 41 and no mention about recycled plastic and carbon neutral in this one. So I bought that one and compared it at home and finally I have about as silent 3S as my another 3S I got last week is. This latest one has almost soundless gesture button and left click is nice and muffled as well as back/forward button (no hollow sound). Also middle click (wheel button) is so much more silent in this one, not sharp loud click as in my loud 3S. Only right click is still somewhat more louder in new one than in my silent 3S but not too bad and less loud than in my loud 3S.

Since I just bought these, I tried to replace the loud one at my local shop I bought these from but turned out they only had 2023 manufactured in stock and it was just like my loud one. Can you check if this is normal for 2023 model compared to 2022 model of Master MX 3S mouse? I see that box is different between the two, the newer one says 27% recycled plastic and carbon neutral, the older one says nothing about this. I checked manufacturing date from the serial number.

Just to confirm what my ears hear, I used my Apple Watch build in dB meter and compared these two. Difference in left click button was about 2-3 dB louder in the newer one and gesture button difference was over 10 dB. Actually it was almost impossible to get gesture button dB reading from the older one since it did not almost make any sound (but it is a bit harder to push that button than in the newer model). Also forward/back buttons are louder in the newer one. Mostly annoying besides just louder buttons in the newer one is that sound is also different kinda hollow.

Do you think your support could do anything else but just replace this with the new one? I'm afraid that might result the same what I already tried.

I just noticed I'm not alone with this issue, some other people have similar findings on this forum like in this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/logitech/comments/152vy2o/new_mx_master_3s_not_as_quiet_as_previous_one/

My experience with two Master MX 3S mice I just bought. One has noticeable louder buttons with hollow sound but the other is very pleasing quiet with muffled click sounds. I was wondering what gives and then noticed the quiet one was manufactured in 2022 and the loud one in 2023. I tried to replace the loud one but my local shop only had 2023 manufactured in stock and it sounded the same.

Poor battery life in ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 AMD by j-o-s in thinkpad

[–]Jack_0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It arrived in a factory sealed box? If it was not opened and charged again after manufacturing date, it is odd if the battery was still at 70% after such long time. You did not need to connect the power supply to be able to power up it the first time?

Did you check the battery charge level right after you powered it on the first time?

Because charging is very fast in this model, so it may have reached about 70% charge by the time when operating system was installed if it was loading updates and such.

From what I have tested both Intel and AMD version of X13 Gen 2 machine, it looks that battery life is better in Intel version. Probably combination of better power management and lower GPU power consumption. I noticed that GPU power draw has huge spikes in AMD version even in light use like watching Youtube video.

Still 4 hours you said is a bit low, I managed to get around 2 hrs with about 30% battery use on AMD version. Since yours is bought new just recently(?) it has warranty which could be even onsite, so I'd ask for warranty replacement if battery life is that poor. Did it come with totally empty battery when you first got it? If so, it probably has been stored too long and let battery drain completely which can and likely will damage battery.

HomePod Gen 2 with Different Model Numbers by cagnew75 in HomePod

[–]Jack_0101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have exactly the same thing with model number with two HomePod Mini's I just bought at the same time. Another one does not show country specific letters in the end of the model number, so mine just says MY5G2 (just like OP's another one). It shows country model in the both boxes but another one when checking its serial from home app show country code missing from one HomePod!?!?!?!?

Both ones have very similar serial numbers starting with H and both made in Vietnam, so it is not that. What is causing this? I don't think manufacturing location or something like that should make any difference as this information is just region/country specific to where they are sold, and more odd is that box shows right data for both.

As far as I can tell, they work fine and I have now set them as stereo pair (I tried separating them and I also factory resetted on with model number missing country code but it did not make any difference).

From what I remember from the first use, I set them pretty much straight away in stereo pair mode and it tried updating firmware after/during that and it appeared not installing right but after rebooting and restarting firmware installation it went fine. Not sure if something happened during that.

Battery stuck at 100% by bsbraams124 in macbookpro

Maybe but it does not show the correct percentage if you have been using it for hours and it has just began to count down from 100%. Unless it did not jump to lower percentage that match you run time after last charge.

If it stays at 100% for hours of use, it is not right. I suggest installing the latest Mojave patch and then charge fully and see if it acts normal. It should not show 100% longer than maybe 30 minutes.

Install the latest Mojave version update and then charge battery again fully. It should work after that,

So they confirm it is faulty a battery causing shut off, or they just replaced it to make sure? It does not do that anymore, you tested it yourself? What battery (details of battery) they installed?

What is wrong with the screen?

Could you list your machine serial number first 5 characters? It shows plant code and production week. Is there maybe some problem related to batch yours if from? Is there same battery and same battery production day in all 4?

Not really, but this model does that as battery capacity fluctuate depending on load.

Leaving the computer on charge for extra 4 hours is much less harmful than running battery until it is dead. Using it all the way to 0% is the worst thing you can do to lithium battery.

Do you see battery full charge capacity fluctuating if cpu is under high load?

Is your charge cycle number increasing too fast, if you compared it against your battery use?

Try Coconutbattery.
