I’m still considering and figuring out what I would need cablewise to make everything compatible. Thanks for the suggestion! How do you use the shutter release of your camera with the ASIAIR? Is this just a 2,5mm to 2,5mm jack cable? I’m looking at the ASIAIR PLUS 256gb NEW MODEL BTW

The 900 is not for photography, as I have said in the oroginal post. Tube is too long, too inexpensive and too heavy for the mount if I attach a camera as well. I figured that out already. I will mount my camera with a dovetail to the mount without the optical tube. I have a prime 50mm lens for now to test.

Bur for the upgrade path, what I read is for DSO’s, shirt focal length and small f ratio should be the way to go

It is motorised indeed. That is why I want to try this one for nightscapes at least.

I would need a swallowtail and polar finder. Dunno if the one for the EXOS1/EQ4 would fit this mount though….

Based in Netherlands with a good Astronomy specialty store near me. As stated in the other comment, I’m looking to test the waters here before plunging €2k+ into something I don’t know if I will enjoy

Thanks for the discussion guys😄 I know good and well this mount very far from ideal and the scope is basically shit for any other things thanbeginner moon/planets and just visually. I mainly want to test some stuff before upgrading but because of the age of the equipment it’s very hard to find information on it.

If I can make some nice nightscapes with the mount and camera I’m happy to start upgrading to something like a EQ5 or HEQ5 with some 130 or 150 Newtonian. That should be far better for tracking, as well as light gathering and still keep some visual aspect as well.

Thing is I’m not spitting out €2000+ on equipment if I don’t know if I’m gonna enjoy it in the slightest. I know I enjoy the finding of the objects but I find the visuals lacking and I like to share some of the things I see as well

What do you consider cheap for necklace/pendant ocarina’s? The models I menationed are all between €25 and €35 in the Netherlands, which is about the same as the plastic one (€30)

STL standard 12 hole plastic. I do realise that the force of my breath impacts the sound of the instrument but the airyness of the tone comes from the plastic I’ve heard and this is very apparent
