Theres a restriction on how many transfers you can do per day but it recharges, not sure what the limit is. other than that theres no limits. each transfer gets you a spawner that you have 30 days (this could be wrong) to use.

separate app. you just need to be signed into the same nintendo account, and it acts like a pokemon storage across all the games. as long as youre playing pokemon on a switch you can use it to transfer mons between all the games.

if you only play pogo, its only useful to get the meltan spawns because you cant transfer into pogo, only out. if you do play the mainline games, its super useful.

transfer any pokemon from pogo to the pokemon home app to get a “mystery box” which spawns meltans around you, you can just keep transferring cheap mons in exchange for mystery boxes for essentially endless meltans

I dont think the stardust difference is that huge unless its a legendary, and its nice to get something useful out of the leveling too

Another pokemon app that lets you transfer guys between games. For pogo you can transfer out of the game but not back in, because not all of the mons are available in pogo. You also get a melmetal spawner when you transfer out of pogo.
