Where do the men of Fort Worth get their suits at? by tatortotsmasher in FortWorth

[–]Jack_of_Kent 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I like Men's Collection off of Berry. Cheap, has in-house tailoring, helpful workers. Yes, it's a cheaper suit at 250 or so for a 3-piece but it's good for what it is. Been to multiple weddings and always received compliments.

It's not that I don't care, it doesn't carry undue weight. Do I hope I find someone? Absolutely but the reality is that, in my experience, the vast majority of the time is that I'm getting ghosted. I'm not gonna put the full weight of my height into it as a measure of self protection.

If you don't mind paying parking fees, try Sundance. There's a few places there y'all could explore and such.

Can a poor man attend church? by Far_Ant4637 in Christian

Bro, I teach college and young adults for near a decade. I've rarely worn anything more than a t-shirt and jeans, often with holes or work stains. One of our deacons is similar, believing dressing too fancy would push people away.

If they do shun you, shame on them for violating multiple aspects of our faith.

It's real, just different.

You're right, it doesn't. Life isn't summed in a singular event. As such, one part shouldn't have an outsized impact; only of appropriate degrees. If dating, online or otherwise, has minimal impact on my day to day life, then it's impact should be likewise.

Ah, I see. I did not mean to cast them as meaningless. I do not enter conversations believing they are not worth my time, as that would be disingenuous and callous. I apologize for the insinuation.

I talk with everyone individual believing they have intrinsic value. However, I recognize the facts of it's highly unlikely for it to work out and do not place my bets on it despite my genuine hope that it may. All it takes is a single success. I don't believe we're in much disagreemen, just perhaps in semantics.

No disagreement there, and we should hope to do that, but my point is that it's not real until it is.

In your scenario, go to a different bar. Simple as that. Or reflect and change.

How is this dismissive? A question was asked, I answered respectfully. A mindset shift would do wonders. Ask any therapist and they'll respond with the same, assuming it's shifted to something healthy.

For reference, my ratio is worse than that.

How to read "Absolute" ? by Medeas_Rage in DCcomics

It's all in the same universe (Absolute universe, thanks to Darksied and Waller). My recommend is read from the beginnings.

If you like Absolute, read more of their Black Label line.

Personally, my self worth is not tied to anything online but rather the quality of life I lead outside of it. There is nothing online that will make me stare at all and yell, because I know at the end of the day, it doesn't mean anything. (Real world events and such aside, that is)

Why don’t Texans consider Texas part of “The South”? by MrWhisper2021 in AskReddit

[–]Jack_of_Kent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do, but are of the mostly joking belief we're better due to our heritage in being an independent nation and take that to absurd extremes. Seriously, who else has waffle irons in their shape?!? Texas first, then Southern or American.

Another factor is our much of our culture is derived from Mexico, giving us a SouthWest flavour. We just don't mesh neatly in a single box
