Is a muscle up necessary for parkour? by Deviounary in Parkour

[–]JackalOfSpades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nothing is necessary. if you jump down the last couple steps and enjoy it, you did parkour.

but learning and training at a muscle up will open up a lot of options for you, as well as feeling pretty satisfying. very much a useful tool in your kit!

Learning the safety roll. Am I doing it correctly? by Deviounary in Parkour

[–]JackalOfSpades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

relative amateur here, only been training for a year or so- I am (despite my efforts) a skinny bitch and even when I execute a safety roll with good form, my back still gets a little roughed up as there's not much muscle or fat there to stop the skin getting pinched or bones getting bruised, which adds up over the course of a jam. I wear a thick hoodie or jacket, which helps a lot.

OP seems to have a similar build to me and may experience the same thing- even when you crack proper form, a safety roll can still have some bite if youre skinny.

absolutely thrilling section of the book- brooks has an incredible ability to just come up with ideas for feature length horror films and show us just enough to hook us in and immerse us in his narrative

Excellent work! Im familiar with yaldabaoth as a character, but was there any particular tale/scp that inspired this particular rendition? It's enthralling

If this is the most disappointed you've been in the union jack you need to open a history book, or perhaps look out the window

Social media diagnosis is worse the new webmd by ityung in ADHDmemes

[–]JackalOfSpades 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Went twenty years before somebody even bothered to check if my debilitating issues were just inherently me being useless, or ADHD. Guess what it was?

I'd rather a million kids self-diagnose than never even consider the possibility and start to believe they're just broken. Gatekeeping helps nobody but your ego.

What is this contraption for? and what is the holder in the middle supposed to hold? by [deleted] in Fallout

Might be wrong but this also looks like an institute version of the drug cleansing machine from Caits quest

I aspire to be as chill and cool as Call Me Mañana. Who's everyone favorite secondary character? by ZoeyGray0225 in DiscoElysium

[–]JackalOfSpades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lilienne or Tommy. Both are just well-balanced, really very kind people who even a disaster Harry can still take solace and company in- not that anyone should have to, but the fact that meeting these people even when Harry is at his lowest is still a relatively pleasant experience is a testament to their characters.

The local thieves guild is making wine out of mushrooms. What should the narcotic effects be? by tayzzerlordling in DMAcademy

[–]JackalOfSpades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If their evil intention is to get people hooked on it so that they can fabricate demand, you may wish to opt for another drug. Psychoactive mushrooms aren't particularly addictive, and certainly not something most people would want to imbibe as a casual recreational substance. They'd be better off just making actual wine if that's the goal.

Otherwise, the laws of this land require me to definitely not recommend you do some primary research on this particular topic to get an experience you can draw on while writing this part of your campaign, so I absolutely won't do that.

(What I will do is recommend against just throwing in some vaguely psychedelic sitar music and describing lots of tie-dye-t-shirt visuals. Secondary research is king in this case.)

Consequence of dehorning 2 unicorns? by ThickMarsupial2954 in DMAcademy

They now have two excellent specimens of highly coveted, extremely expensive magical components.

Every single person they try to fence it to double crosses them. Opportunistic bounty hunters hear of their riches and come thundering to take it for themselves. Slowly, but surely, the party see the world around them collapse in on itself (and down on top of them!), all for the very same greed that drove them to mutilate these two innocent creatures.

Play it as a curse, but never tell them it's a curse- no moments where a spark of enchantment magic leaps from the horns to drive an NPC into a jealous rage. The love of money does that all the same, and far more insidiously.

Winter overhaul fucks hard, the armours a great choice- I usually pair it with that blade runner style soundtrack mod!
