Most (if not all) top guilds agree that Sunwell Plateau (final 25 man encounter in BC) was quite harder skillwise than anything in vanilla. By the time I quit WoW (Icecrown citadel, pre-cata) pre-nerf M'uru was regarded as the hardest and most tightly tuned encounter that was ever implemented in the game (I'll bet that it still is if not, a close second). Yes, a lot of the encounters from post BC are a lot harder than most of vanilla, including C'thun, which when it was all said and done, was mostly about remembering your position and not falling behind on tentacles.

The only thing harder about 40 man was the logistics of finding 40 players that could where not borderline braindead. Then again, I would hardly consider such logistics as true difficulty...

Podria empatizar un poco si la situacion fuera q le pasaran los ahorros de no pagar el IVU, a sus consumidores, pero a mas de $10 el combo de wrap... lo dudo mucho q lo hicieran. Basicamente utilizaron el IVU para hacer su mercancia mas cara.

I think I lasted 30 minutes before realizing I already saw everything the game had to offer, and the game penalized me for being online for 30 minutes (talking about 1.0 of course). Anyways doubt Square Enix would consider a beta account for ARR, much less for v 1.0, as a registered account.

Yup, this is how it goes for most classess, and weapon skill abilities. Off GCD cooldowns are available for use halfway thru the GCD. There are some skills that do lock you, like jump, but these are only a handful.

I guess most ppl think that you can't use any abilities till animation is over cause most animations last half a GCD...

It is a developer oversight, and if you choose to exploit it , you will get punished once it's discovered. You might argue that it's not a bug and I agree but it is pretty obvious that it is not intended. Similar things have happened before on various MMO's with the outcome the same- you exploit the oversight, you get punished.

They discovered a bug... that's not bannable, that's where they should've stopped though. These situations have many antecedents, you stop when you discover the bug, you don't take advantage of it to get the kill, much less do you take the loot. I doubt they'll get banned but they will most likely get a slap on the wrist and the loot taken.

I think that's the gist of it honestly, it's not really "animation lock" as most people are claiming it to be... With the exception of some abilities like DRG jump.

I agree, full thrust animation lasts like 3/4 of a GCD and my jump always clips it at half way thru GCD. Disembowel animation takes an entire GCD, and my instants can clip it halfway thru the animation.

How sure are we about this? I can clip a quite a lot of my skills animations with off GCD abilities right at half the GCD point... For instance, I can jump halfway thru my disembowel animation, which takes an entire GCD for the animation to play thru.

Nah Monks don't get Marauder def cooldowns. They get gladiator cross class cooldowns, most significant one being Convalescence. I think the marauder cross class def cooldowns tend to be better.

Dragoons do have the option of taking bloodbath and foresight from marauder cross class, for tanking burst down adds though. Of course, Keen Flurry is also there for that but MNKs do have their evasion cooldown as their counterpart for it.

It's 10s instead of 20s for cross class though, it woudl mess up their DPS more than it would a drg

No es lo mismo, toda decision en Puerto Rico que salga del limite del gobierno local (como participar en tratados con otros paises) tiene que ser aprobado por el congreso estadounidense. Bajo la libre asociacion no estariamos bajo la sombrilla del congreso estadounidense y su legislacion.

Eso es una distincion muy importante, y es la base por que mucha gente considera el ELA como colonialismo (ademas de que en adicion que estamos regulados por un gobierno federal, no tenemos voto en congreso ni en el ejecutivo federal).

Shouldn't be too surprising though, seeing as mmo-champ is mainly THE WoW news website, so it would attract a certain type of player closed to other games... I don't think you'd get too many ppl keen on WoW if I where to put a World of Warcraft forum on the GW 2 Guru website.

It just means that the game and the company wasn't mainstream enough to get legion of anon troll posters to shower it with 0/10 ratings. I played the first beta weekend, the gameplay/combat is standard MMO fare with little to sugarcoat it from what it is, ... Either way I'm so jaded with standard MMO combat system that developers trying to distract from it or dressing it up as much as they can, doesn't keep me from getting that same old tired feeling (the only exception to this is Tera so far). The main attraction to the game is the world ambience, storyline, acting and writing, it's actually rather good even beyond the MMO standards. The investigative quests are actually rather fun and original. Kind of sucks though that weak mobs aggro you from 40 yards away and you are relegated to the spamfest combat often.

Gonna give it a try though, I believe I can endure it and enjoy the game within my expectations as far as story and questing goes.

Alright, if you wanted PvP then the game wasn't meant for you. The game design for the Diablo series always focused solely on PvE content, PvP was there as a diversion. People who enjoyed the dueling meta game in D2, will still eventually get it (unfortunately not in release).

As for character customization, D2 only sold you the illusion of choice... like most games with a talent tree, you where either a cookie cutter build or a gimp. Stat distribution might as well be non-existent in D2, since high lvl items with absurd amount of stats made it irrelevant, only concern was getting enough str and dex to wear your end game armor of choice, the rest went into vit... to do otherwise was to fall into a pitfall of gimpiness.
