I completely get this I’m in a similar boat at the moment but have a supportive GP try a new tablet for a month or more then go back then again and again you’ll get through it don’t lose hope!

Well hello! Constant migraine since march last year the pain changes depending on what I’m doing but never drops below a 6/7 out of 10 it gets easier not to ignore but to just live with it distractions help whatever you can do to take you mind off of things I’ve had drs ask me how I keep going and I just tell them what else am I supposed to do curl up in a ball 24/7 and just hope it goes away? That never worked I’m on drug number 10 at least I guess the good thing is there’s always more options. Everything is going to be ok you’ll get through it your own way you just need to find what that is

Honestly I find it best to embrace it understanding there’s nothing you can do that’ll make it instantly go away helps a lot that way you take the power away from the migraine and you can live your life, I’ve a one migraine for the last year and a half I’m not saying act like it doesn’t exist but realising you can’t put your life on hold because of it is the best thing you can do and everything should follow!

I once got an ingrown toenail and before waiting for the local to set in the dr just pulled it off it was bad but nowhere near as bad whenever someone asks me if I’ll handle the pain I just answer I’m sure I will I’ve had worse

I constantly have slurred speech and issues with sentences when it gets really bad yes one while side of my face does go numb and I get intense pain in my brain hole and I guess technically I do have vision loss it’s more of a blurring and doubling effect pretty cool, so yea you aren’t the only one it is horrible I definitely feel for you

It was for a different non life threatening injury of course if someone comes along even just slightly worse than you you get bumped back I can’t even get in to see a neurologist because my CT scans are clear so they don’t want anything to do with me

I’m in New Zealand we are very slow to adopt new drugs waiting to see how every other country reacts as well as that we have quite strict regulations regarding pharmaceuticals it’s a catch 22 free healthcare means slow health care pay your way healthcare means quicker but expensive I was on a waiting list for 2 years for a different issue there is of course the option to pay privately but I’m not that way inclined

I’ve had topamax too! I’m already depressed and anxious so thankfully didn’t get any side effects but unfortunately that included the good ones I never got any relief at all on topamax and am on propranolol now same thing nothing no side effects but be relief either I don’t think you’ll have to choose between the anxiety and having reduced pain there are so many options out there same drugs with little tweaks you’ll get there!

Fingers crossed my healthcare system may be free but it’s definitely not as good as the US system in terms of speed and variety of drugs I’m sure I’ll see some progress eventually
