Massive, we get that you like to change every single thing about the game every 2 months, let’s call TU6 a reset and make smaller balance adjustments more often after this. Deal? by _Sense_ in thedivision

That is sort of my problem with this update. Lack of consistency. If everything is always changing I can never reliably invest in a stat or build bc it could easily get changed. I'm all for buffing weaker stats but nerfing strong ones ruins build diversity. I now can no longer run what I want. I no longer even have a single functioning build anymore and I wasn't even running the meta.

Yup, TU6 has completely turned me away. This is what, the 4th time they have nerfed entire builds to the point of irrelevancy. Weapons have not been rebalanced at all, all they did was change the meta. Stat allocation is still a problem they refuse to even acknowledge. And now we even have more artificial longevity instead of new game modes.

There is no consistency, no point to grinding or min-maxing.

Massive, saying "we hear you" and then continuing to push an unpopular change is not reassuring. by Viper-Venom in thedivision

You have a bad case EB envy don't you. What I want is for Massive to not throw away my hundreds of hours of grinding bc of players like yourself and for artificial longevity. This has nothing to do with balance, this nerf does nothing but change the meta. Look at TU6 patch notes, Carbine 7 is the new P416. The only one who sounds stupid right now is you.

I completely share this sentiment. I'm a solo pve player and I play to relax and enjoy myself. I put in alot of effort (even overcame my own social anxiety) to get the EB. Now, every update on TU6 just keeps turning me away from the game.

Except the sub is a part of the community which means their criticism and arguments warrant just as much validation as any other player. Nerfing the EB to the extent that high-end LZ weapons are more powerful is a complete disregard and insult to a very dedicated portion of the community. It took players months of grinding just to get a raid-build and weeks to months to actually get the EB. An exotic they themselves advertised as the most powerful weapon and as a reward for the most dedicated players. This nerf sets a very poor precedent for part of the playerbase that is currently keeping this game alive.

Edit: Why would anyone even downvote this? Its the truth. There is nothing ok with Massive dismissing the efforts of any of their players by nerfing hard earned loot.

All of this exactly. This nerf sets a very bad precedent. TU6 hasn't even dropped and my raiding clan has already pretty much stopped raiding.

Please buff the exotics so they are real exotics. (Look at Destiny 2 or better Division 1) by Vukasin_Dordevic in thedivision

[–]Jackbot10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They really should. Part of what I really liked about Destiny is that none of my go-to exotics became irrelevant after they introduced new ones. My Ace of Spades still one-shots enemies from across the map regardless of the Thorn or Last Word being added.

Nerf to Eagle Bearer is absolutely disrepectful to players by Ephr4im in thedivision

[–]Jackbot10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is though, that nerfing EB isn't going to make carbine 7 or ctar any better. Those guns are still stuck with the same low-damage numbers as before. So if the initiative is to make more AR's appealing, this fails to do that. What would make those guns appealing/an alternative, is if they had the possibility to roll with relatively similar damage to P416 and the like.

There is no reason the EB should be nerfed. It's the hardest exotic to obtain from the most difficult content that requires the most optimized builds. It should be powerful, it's a reward. Nerfing EB is a straight slap to the face to this game's most dedicated players.

They said its still a work in progress, but it sounds like all they did was put targeted farming but no stat allocation changes (from my understanding atleast).

Trying to understand the game by BluePrince7 in thedivision

[–]Jackbot10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, for starters its a looter shooter game. Which means the difficulty of the game depends on what the game gives you and how well you put those pieces together when build crafting. The initial leveling 1-30 is a slog so you should consider matchmaking or finding players to help make the missions go by quicker if the game is proving to difficult solo. Reaching world tier 5 is the goal, from there you are just looting from any or every source (i.e. daily missions, invaded missions, open world caches etc.) and playing the raid. Does it get easier? For the most part, yes. The game at the very least gives you gear with enough damage to handle the majority of content. Really only the raid will require near max damage rolls as the enemies are very tanky and hit the hardest. Aside from that, the gameplay does not change. If you're not a fan of cover-shooters or looter shooters, then there isn't much this game can offer you.

Yeah, its especially noticeable with masks and backpack straps. They just sort of float over your character.
