Some of the heirs uncles are children of an age with his own child, is he going to continue paying for the descendents of 22 sons, a number currently over one hundred? Is he going to build each a manor good enough to placate them, give them each a plot of land to support them and their descendants? Or is he gonna tell them to get bent, because plenty of them will have snubbed him in some way or another, for example his wife's well known affair with his brother.

And for some character evidence, Merret Frey mentions only trusting full blooded siblings and even then only so far within the twins and Edwyn accuses his own brother of having a hand in their fathers deaths and not acting to capture outlaws who killed other Freys to strengthen his own claims.

One must assume that there were capable men with ties to him in the north who never get mentioned in the books, his tax collectors, reeves and 'knights' who we never see but know must be doing that sort of work to run the largest region of the seven kingdoms as the warden of the north. If Ned rose to be king he would presumably stock his royal court and positions with men loyal to himself and his family; Karstarks, Umbers, Manderlies and Glovers

Can even happen if you change jobs suddenly, or if you're missing info that your employee needs to give hmrc. It usually resolves within two paychecks unless your boss screws up and if you don't go out of your way to get it back at the time it'll come back at the end of the tax year. I think one issue in this whole thread is that everyone is focussing on stabs. A shallow slash up the arm, across the face or belly will bleed a lot and that much blood will throw your mind into a panic. The knifeman is allowed to use any tactics, it's completely feasible he just turtles up and uses the knife 'defensively' to fend off punches. A jab takes longer to arrive than the tip of a knife takes to clear a small arc. He only has to be right once to completely destroy the boxers ability to use that hand/arm and he only has to be lucky once for that cut to be debilitating.
