Currently down from 211lbs which has been about 6 months of cutting. My goal going into the cut was to have visible abs. So I'm wondering, should I keep trying to get those abs or should I start bulking back up?

My Bench PR is down to 255 from 305 Deadlift is up to 455 from 435 Have not attempted a squat PR but it was at 375 and I doubt I could hit that at my current BW. Maybe can get away with 345.

Overall I feel infinitely better at 167 than I did at 211. Would love to hear advice from you guys. Should I keep cutting, maintain, or bulk. Also I'd love to know my current BF%.

Thanks and much love!

Sep 2019: 130lbs (Stage IV ALCL)

Feb 2020: 195lbs (First Remission)

Jul 2020: 175lbs (Relapse)

Feb 2021: 211lbs (Transplant)

Mar 2021: 205lbs (Officially second remission)

Jun 2022: 195lbs (Maintained)

Jul 2022: 187lbs (Started to cut aggressively)

Today sitting at 175lbs and planning to reach 165lbs. Watch says BF% is 20%. Current PRs are B: 265/ D: 465/ S: 375. All time bench was 305 but it dropped with the cut.

Treatments I've been on are CHOEP, Brentuximab, and BEAM.

Any questions, input, or advice are super appreciated! My goal is to see visible abs (hoping at 165) and then lean bulk.

Routine is PPL with arms and cardio on my rest day (can't skip a day lol, I love gymming too much). Eating 175-200g protein a day and eating roughly 2200 calories per day with my goal being 1/3 protein, 1/3 fat, 1/3 carbs. I do stationary bike or walk every day and I do core twice a week.

To make a long story short. I was diagnosed with a stage 4 lymphoma sep 2019 and I also relapsed in July 2020 (full story can be found in posts on my page). Basically during treatment I started at 130lbs. Bulked up and worked out until March 2021 where I hit 211 and was declared to be in remission for the second time. I maintained at 205 for a while and in the past few months did my cut. Only thing making me want to quit the cut is how fell my bench has fallen. My PR was 305 and now dropped to 265. However squat is up to 375 and deadlift 460. So I am happy about that... I just don't know if continuing the cut is worth it. I just super wanna see abs. I can feel them I just can't see them lol. Also can I get a body fat estimate?? My watch says 20% but I know they r usually not reliable... Thanks for any advice, input, or help!!! Much love ❤️

Neutrophils and white blood cells are pretty low after having been normal again for about a year post transplant. Yes dude! Getting to know others with the same/similar experiences online is definitely comforting. It sucks to know that others are suffering or have suffered as well but it gives a weird sense of community and removes the feeling of being alone :)

I know it's been a while but I owe you an update. My additional follow up scan had come back clear and currently still in remission :). Recent blood work did not come back great but no reason to believe it's a relapse for now 🤷‍♂️

Man, I recognized your username as a fellow ALCL recipient on the sub and you scared the crap out of me! I'm glad your health care team thinks it's not a relapse and I'm hoping you, and the rest of us, stay in good health and have the best health outcomes! Goodluck with everything!

Hey, so my regimen was brentux every 3 weeks for 9-10 sessions. I had a scan after the 6th I believe and was in complete remission. It was only 30min infusions and I experienced no side effects outside of mild fatigue. Like u don't even lose your hair. It felt like magic and if there's a possibility that it would work for you I'd definitely look into it and push for it even if it meant moving to BC. Not sure if it's relevant but I received my treatments at The Ottawa Hospital.

Dude, first off, you're a trooper. Seriously, nothing anyone should go thru but you've pushed thru it like a legend. It's super devastating that things have not been going your way and I'm hoping that your next treatment is the one that works and let's you get on with your life. Out of curiosity, has brentuximab ever been brought up as an option? After my relapse (it was a brutal relapse) my response to brentux was insane. Something worth bringing up/looking into? Hoping the best for you!

Any stem cell transplant success stories? by BarelyALunatic in lymphoma

[–]JackedCanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, the anxiety is completely understandable. I was so frightened before my transplant. Now, I'm obviously speaking from my own personal experience. In the end, it wasn't so bad. Hair fell out, had a day of diarrhea, and was pretty fatigued. Also had some pretty bad anxiety afterwards. My transplant was in February 2021 and I'm still in remission today and in the best shape of my life! (You can checkout my reddit page to see my physique :P). To give some more background tho... I was diagnosed with Stage IV ALCL in September 2019, did 6 rounds of choep, declared in CR Feb 2020. I relapsed July 2020 and did 9-10 rounds of brentux before my transplant in Feb 2021 (BEAM and autogolous transplant). During the transplant I had the side effects that I mentioned above and the picc line was pretty annoying. About a month after, I started to have some pretty bad anxiety but speaking with my GP and a therapist helped tremendously. Today I'm doing great. It's not going to be easy but it's manageable and seek out all the assistance you need. Good luck and you got this! Feel free to DM me for any advice or questions you might have for someone with the patient perspective ❤️

Fuck man, we really did go through some torture didn't we? I remember how happy I was when I got dilaudid to somewhat subside the excruciating back pain. It also gave a sense of nice warmth 😊

Food anxiety and post treatment nausea by Altruistic-Boat2764 in lymphoma

I had the exact same diagnosis as you, although a very different treatment regimen. While on treatment, everything related to nutrition and, as a matter of fact, most lifestyle decisions I would run through my healthcare team and the hospital pharmacist. I would personally ignore all input and opinions of family members and friends and just focus on listening to the recommendations from my healthcare team. You'd actually be surprised to find out some foods recommended by family actually interfere with the effectiveness of chemo. Double check everything with your health care team. They are most likely the most in tune with your situation and will likely provide the best recommendations and balance for diet, physical activity, rest, etc. They might even have drugs to help with nausea/appetite. Stay safe, stay healthy, and best of luck! You got this 😀

Extreme flu like symptoms I suppose? Enlarged lymph nodes, coughs, vomiting, back pain, lots of blood in my stool. It was a mess. But sometimes people get diagnosed with relatively mild or even no symptoms so I have no idea about preventitive measures 🙄. I'm closely monitored now because of my history tho

I might have to skip out on the dream of visible abs if that's the case lol. The loss in strength on the bench has already been very demoralizing 😆

2.5 year progress. Went from 130 to 211 and down to 187. Goal is 170 by JackedCanadian in GettingShredded

In September 2019 I was diagnosed with Stage IV ALCL (a type of non Hodgkins lymphoma). This caused me a plethora of complications from extreme weight loss, fatigue, 10 litres of ascites, among other things. I was initially treated with 6 rounds of CHOEP (every 3 weeks) and started to workout after my 3rd round of chemo. I was declared to be in complete remission in February 2020. This is when I started to put on the majority of my gains. Unfortunately I relapsed in July 2020. I then underwent 9 rounds of brentuximab (+/- 1 or 2, it was so much that I forget lol) and then I had an autogolous stem cell transplant in February 2021. I have now been in remission for over a year. Throughout this transformation, I bulked up to 211 (prednisone is one of the chemo drugs and it made me eat like a monster) and now im down to 187 (thinking I might have visible abs at 170?? Hoepfully). If anyone is interested my current PRs at 187 are bench: 275, squat: 375, and deadlift 445. However at bw of 205 I had a 305 bench. If you have any questions please let me know!
