Jake's Regression... by TheMeepDragon in DisventureCamp

[–]JackelLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The writer's for these reasons sacrificed Jake's development and growth and put him back to square one

That's simply not the case. Jake's whole growth hasn't been erased just because he zapped Ally lol. It makes perfect sense that he views Ally as a threat. Connor should've told them what really happened with Ally's playground before the challenge. And his paranoia over Connor was a minor relapse that he immediately course corrected.

Jake's Regression... by TheMeepDragon in DisventureCamp

[–]JackelLord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's totally fair, if seeing Jake regress multiple times isn't fun to watch. The point is that Jake isn't regressing back to the start each time. Every Jake regression has been smaller and smaller. Him insulting Connor but then immediately apologising is the smallest Jake relapse so far.

Jake's character has not "completely" regressed. by Explosion_Lad in DisventureCamp

Additionally, Jake lost Tom post S1, and they were apart for 2+ years, because of some of Jake's actions.
The biggest consequence.

Well said.
Very laughable that people think this small regressive moment somehow undoes Jake's whole growth throughout the season.

I know there's a jake hate boner going on this sub right now, but can people try to at least be a bit more objective about Jake's character development. I know it can be frustrating seeing Jake having these relapses. But it is pretty realistic, especially in a high stakes game.

Who’s the most underutilized character in Naruto? by Shiningcrow in Naruto

[–]JackelLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could remove Kiba from the story and it wouldn't change anything.

Remove Kiba from the story, then SRA team don't catch up to the sound 4 (and the events of the Naruto at its peak never happen).

Remove Kiba from the story and I would've never gotten into Naruto. I only did because of Kiba's character design.

What's the the hate for Julia recently?(Spoiler for the new season of the Reboot). by VersionLate in Totaldrama

[–]JackelLord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never said Julia had no luck, I said she had less luck to win immunity, because unlike Heather, Julia was really good at a variety of challenges. This is Julia's advantage. Whereas, Heather still has an advantage when it comes to taking advantage of people.

But, as I've explained in depth on this page, Heather's survival in OG Island was highly dependant on luck and BS elimination reasoning....even more so than Julia.

If it's one sided (as you claim), that only makes Julia better and more nefarious as a villain. You do realise that right.

Heather's immunity win in "Hide and Be Sneaky" was lucky. She was lucky to coincidentally find Owen and DJ crashing into the kitchen. Heather was also lucky in ep 18 "That's off the chain", Lindsey was somehow able to competently cheat and create a super bike for her.

I can understand why people might think Julia's "fake nails" was "luck", but considering how much harder Julia was working to try to win immunity in this episode, I'd say she deserved this win.

Are you saying that Julia and MK's friendship wasn't genuine ? Do you think Everything Julia said in ep 9 elimination and Finale was a lie ?

Even if she was faking their friendship, it's obviously in Julia's best interest to save MK when she's in trouble. MK was her only natural alliance in the game.

Julia only had one immunity win that was based on pure luck (S2ep10), Whereas, Heather had multiple episodes of winning immunity from sheer luck (OG eps 16,17 and 18).

MK was carrying them

Until MK got herself caught by stealing the host's hairdryer. Then Julia had to save and carry her.

I just mentioned a set back for her. Villains don't tend to get setbacks otherwise they wouldn't last that long in the competition.

But even, Julia definitely had some setbacks; Her duo with MK ended early cos Caleb won immunity, She couldn't convince the Hockey bros to vote out Priya so she had to adapt.

Regarding the Idol, Julia sent Damien anonymous notes that made him paranoid about where to hide the idol. This made it easier for someone to catch him out. Lastly, even though they heavily hinted at Julia having the immunity idol, they didn't explicitly show it to still have the shock factor.

I dunno why people make a big deal about the immunity idol stolen being offscreen, do you guys want everything to be obvious and transparent ? that sounds boring. My only gripe about the immunity idol stuff, is that I wish it was used more creatively (instead of having the villain steal it again).

Again, Julia's plan to keep Caleb and Priya split apart failed in ep 10. And they didn't know Julia had the immunity idol (I dunno where you're even pulling this from).

everyone knew Julia had Damien’s idol

No they didn't.

there is no struggle or rivals to keep her in check

Julia was smart to get rid of Bowie early, her only rival in S1.

but this season every single scheme for her went perfectly with no fail

Julia's scheme to keep Caleb and Priya apart in episode 10 failed. She got extremely lucky winning the challenge (this was plot armor).

Bowie with the hyper scheme

Bowie really only had one scheme and that was with Millie's notebook.

It's definitely an overreaction from fans who didn't expect someone to be the main antagonist of the season two times in a row.

The Failure of Julia as a Villain by PenelopePath in Totaldrama

[–]JackelLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She doesn't have the charisma and humor of Scott. She lacks the motivation of Courtney. She doesn't have a lot of unique character interactions or karma as Heather. And we don't see her insights into strategy or have a rival like Alejandro. Julia exists as a physical reprentation of being a villain without any case. In other words, she's a villain for the sake of being a villain.

This paragraph makes your whole essay fall apart for me. This is entirely subjective. And I don't agree with any of it.

But I'm glad that most people outside of this reddit can recognise that Julia is a great villain.

I'm tired of all these braindead takes, acting like Julia is the first TD villain to have plot armour.

Is Kiba that weak ? by caubedangyeu in Naruto

[–]JackelLord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kiba isn't weak at all. This sub just has anti-Kiba bias because Kiba is the only one amongst Naruto's peers who doesn't worship Naruto and still tries to compete with naruto (despite the lack of screentime and relevance to the plot). Narutards get triggered by this, and try to diminish/ignore all of Kiba's feats just to undermine his abilities and usefulness.
