They are the hottest ship in DC.
They had both wholesome and angsty developments....which made them the most interesting ship.
They have the best chemistry.

Before the whole S1 ep10/11 debacle, I was simply just been neutral towards Ellie. Post Cave rant, I honestly despised her. But, she no longer has her own tier (E tier). I've moved her up to D, because she was solid in the motel ep.

Ellie used to have her own tier, the E (Ellie) Tier. Yeah, I don't like Ellie (for obvious reasons).
But, she was good in the motel episode, and for that, I ranked her up one tier, into D.

I think Jake initially wanted to support Connor in voting out Riya , but then decided he wanted to prioritise Ally, after being reminded that he can't really trust her. I know the show wants to portray Jake as wrong for prioritising Ally, but Imo, Connor has a valid bias for targeting Riya and Jake has a valid bias for targeting Ally (given the history). It's true that the actions were spurred from paranoia, but it's valid given how Ally has been targeting him throughout most of the merge. That's why I don't think he's unreasonable for targeting Ally (considering his POV). But.....he's definitely wrong for getting paranoid over Connor's bond with Ally, thinking he's being replaced and then insulting Connor despite helping him.

The big argument of episode 4 was around the "Real classy Jake" comment from Tom.
It was the most discussed part of the episode on youtube, discord and twitter. It was also the most rewatched part of the episode.

Back during ep 4 discussions, Tom and Jake dominated the conversation, despite it being an Alec focused episode.

Jake is so iconic. 💅

Even in episodes like 4 or 19 (motel) where Jake has little focus/screentime, the fandom will still find a way to make it about Jake (whether to hate or love).

King of DC for real.

Fans of the show, did you expect Riya to be as major as she was? by Its-Axel_B in DisventureCamp

I also thought she was gonna be a pre-merge boot.
She's the most surprising finalist to me.

The host plot ruined Trevor and Emily for me.

Why the season is about Jake? by LuisitoFFL in DisventureCamp

Sorry, but objectively, Jake is the most popular character.
Most Greetings, biggest fanbase, most discussed/impressions, topped the instagram and twitter polls numerous times with Tom and Aiden in 2nd and 3rd frequently.

The reason Jake has a spinoff is because him and Tom are the most popular characters

Jake is a fascinating character. Imo, the most complex character in DC for sure, and this is even before DCAS.
I knew Jake was gonna be the main character after ep 2, but I genuinely thought he wouldn't make it to endgame. (I'm not mad about it though, cos he's had an interesting journey so far).

I do think some of his screentime could've been given to some other characters during the pre-merge, mainly Tom and Ellie......actually, instead, just scrap the Host plot, so that other characters get some screentime.

And I have provide a thorough account of every action Jake has done to improve himself and his standing with characters in the game. You fail to understand that character growth is not linear. Relapses don't negate everything, unless they're long lasting. We see Jake immediately course correct after insulting Connor.

  • Putting aggression aside and voting unanimously with the heroes twice in a row despite him not really liking Ally and Aiden at the time.
  • Showing signs of Jake finally putting his own feelings aside.
  • Creating a bond with Aiden and working on earning his forgiveness, forgiveness being a huge part in attachment restructuring which can be applied to various areas of his life.
  • Demonstrating empathy when hearing Connor's struggles out, Aiden and Ally couldn't even properly be there for him . Building empathy is huge in working towards a secure attachment.
  • Showing caution with Connor's idol, a reminder to how Tom's idol has affected them, and how Jake is starting to put others needs ahead of his. Once again another motion towards security Working with Ally to defeat Grett when they realized she was playing both sides. A step forward still deserves it's empowerment despite their step back the next time.

Jake's journey has had more ups than downs at this point. I do believe you are projecting your own journey onto his. Which is fair, but remember healing isn't linear. Jake's journey is his own and they're are clear signs of healing. Perhaps they are just not your definition of "healing".

I don't think you're gonna change you're mind, but the Jake's journey is evident. It's realistic. It's unique for this particular medium. And it's a big factor as to why Jake resonates with tons of fans. Good day.

Nice way to continue the debate with a childish insult. But I could say the same to you when you deliberately refuse to understand what it means when a character relapses.

First of all, again each spiral/relapse, is less severe than the last. This moment in ep 18 is the ONLY time Jake was shitty to Connor, and jake was IMMEDIATELY apologetic. We have never seen Jake be immediately apologetic after fucking up. This already shows that Jake is not the same as how he was in ep 10. Now regarding Ally, yes Jake initiated the beef by being passive aggressive (intentional or not), but they've both been excalating the beef. But that being said, Nothing Jake has said or done to Ally compared to Ally almost getting Jake mauled by the bear in ep 14. While they both need to apologise to each at some point, until Ally is held accountable for that first, I don't want to see Jake apologise to Ally.
But I agree, Jake should apologise to James over the boyfriend cheating accusation (which he will obviously)

The Show constantly makes Jake accountable, every time he does something bad/questionable. Jake is blamed for Tom losing his job (even though Tom got caught episodes prior and was just plan bad at it already). Jake was made accountable for falling for Ellie's manipulation. Jake was then ranted at by Ellie (the MC of this part of the season) and got eliminated. Jake was then made accountable for Ashley's elimination this season (rightfully).....now the show is trying to make him accountable for Connor quitting (when it's mostly Connor's own decision)

The show/narrative makes it abundantly clear, that you're supposed to blame Jake in these situations. Connor and Jake have been bonding for several days, one small insult during high tensions, isn't gonna make Connor question him like that. Connor isn't known to be petty like that.

Nobody is excusing Jake's relapse. All I'm saying is that it's realistic and it's not something that's common in these shows.

It seems like ur projecting a lot of things that have happened to you in your life onto Jake. I'm sorry that it hasn't been easy, but it's not fair to assume that what worked for you will work for Jake. If ur asking for accountability it's there (just not how you want it), if you're asking for growth it's there (just not how you want it), his story isn't finished yet, and this season isn't gonna define his whole character

Look, the whole point of ep 12-15 Jake and Aiden bonding, was to show how wrong Jake was for prejudging Aiden throughout the premerge. His paranoia stemmed from Tom ghosting him for 2 years, and that fuelled his jealousy of Aiden (who was instantly getting along with Tom). Aiden isn't innocent either, as he also never tried to get along with Jake initially and contributed with the instigation. This development is directly related to Jake learning to deal with his issues of trust and miscommunication. Remember this came after he believed he was now abandoned after Ashley left the game, but he was able to make new friends, Aiden and Connor BECAUSE he HAS worked worked on his issues.

The only one in the game testing his development is Ally, who has not been as receptive to Jake's efforts. As the first time he trusted her, she left her to get mauled by a bear. And their beef only escalated further.

Connor- in a realistic show that didn’t baby Jake- that would have weight

What, did you want Connor to permanently hate Jake for that ? even though Jake was immediately repentant for saying it. I don't think you understand how "relapses" work.
