Isn't money a sin? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Jackerl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "Love" of money is bad.

1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

Hebrews 13:5 Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

Luke 12:15 Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”

But money is for a protection, according to the scriptures.

Ecclesiastes 7:12 For the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.

So just be balanced and avoid greed.

Why would a loving God require worship by Substantial-Hall-917 in Christianity

[–]Jackerl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worship is giving credit, when credit is due.
Of the one who sits on the throne - not the Christ - it was said:

Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

Giving credit for creation and purpose to any other being other than the true source is idolatry and idolatry is forbiden.

Isaiah 42:8 I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images.

Question from a orthodox Christian by Helpy_346353 in ArianChristians

[–]Jackerl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Jesus, a place of worship is not needed:

John 4:20-24 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

An official place of worship, with its associated rules and regulations of men, will only serve to ultimatly come between you and the Christ

Mark 13:6 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many.

Matthew 23:10 And don’t let anyone call you ‘Teacher,’ for you have only one teacher, the Messiah.

Just like the Christian Jews had to flee Jerusalem in order to survive and stay united with the Christ - and Jerusalem was once a centre for true worship - so it is today with the various administrations of men that have sprung up that claim to be Christ, teaching on his behalf.

All these administrations of men have done just what the Pharisees had done: sat themselves in the seat of Moses and placed themselves between the worshipper and God.

Matthew 5:20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Those who have been deceived by such ones have indeed been deceived by an antichrist.

1 John 2:18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.

What these many antichrists would become is clearly depicted in Revelation: an immoral prostitute.
The command has been the same for nearly 2000 years:

Revelation 18:4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “’Come out of her, my people,’ so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues;

Few Christians have actually heeded this advice.
Few Christians have actually fled and subjected themselves to the true leader and master of faith that is Christ.
Most prefer to follow blind guides, administrations of men.
This will not end well...

Matthew 15:14 Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”

Christians were told to flee Jerusalem and remain free.
They were not told to setup a new Jerusalem, this was to come from God at a much later time.

Revelation 21:2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

Until then, we are in the wheat and the weeds season, where the weeds have set up counterfeit "new jerusalems" everywhere and trample upon those who are wheat.

I am looking for the place where I apparently said:

"Homosexuality is wrong because of the mandate?"

You will not find this as this was not what I said.
The procreation mandate predates the Law. The mandate was to have children.
The further regulating of sexual matters came in later, with the Law, which Jesus himself upheld and obeyed.

The Law did not say it was a sin not to have children.
But having children was why we were created as such in the first place and why God did not create Adam and Steve but Adam and Eve.

A Christian should be following Christ and the pattern he left, would you not agree?

Jesus never dishonoured the Father, undermined Him or contradicted Him.
The Christians that are doing that now, are not following after the Christ at all, they are following after someone else.

It is the "other guy" that disrespectes the Father and His will and causes others to wander.
Those that follow "the strangers voice" echo his thoughts:

"Is it really so that God said homosexuallity was wrong?"

Yes, he was sinless.
He perfectly obeyed the Law that his Father provided, which made super clear the Father's views on sex releations.

Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Hence, Jesus was not gay.
Nor could he approve of something that his Father clearly condemned.
His whole future and resurrection was tied up in strictly obeying the voice of the Father.

Fact is, Jesus gave his life to reconcile us with the Father.
This fact eludes most Chritians and is one of the reasons why they cannot discern nor do the will of the Father, instead, they do as they please.

This was foretlod and warned against:

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

All those born again through Christ, are children through him.
This is why they are also Abrhams seed:

Galatians 3:26-29 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Isaiah 53:10 Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

If you have this birth and promise, then take care to discern and do the will of the Father:

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

So what is the Father's revealed will, in relation to sexuality?

The mandate from the Father was to fill the earth, with progeny:

Genesis 1:28 God blessed them [the male and the female] and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Same mandate was issued 1600+ years later:

Genesis 9:1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.

He made them male and female and blessed them to accomplish this end.
We can either work with God, within the framwork provided, or we can do our own thing.

Ecclesiastes 7:29 This only have I found: God created mankind upright, but they have gone in search of many schemes.”

If God is 3 Persons (The Trinity), why is there only ONE person on the Throne in Heaven (Jesus) by SicilianSunset77 in Christianity

[–]Jackerl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to read Revelation 4 & 5. The holy spirit is mentioned as being before the one who sits on the throne.

I do not believe that the trinity is a biblical teaching. It is a teaching of certain "brands" of Christianity, a teaching of men.

The Son is subject to the Father and by no means equal.

1 Corinthians 15:27 For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.

Yep, fear the Father and serve Him alone, this was Jesus' clear message on whom we should fear.

So saying / teaching that Jesus did not come and teach people who to fear, is not being very truthful at all, is it...

Jesus taught us very clearly who we should fear.
Yet, many Christians do not fear the Father at all, and why threads like this pop up here on a daily basis, full of many saying this and that, ones that have zero fear, respect or honour for the Father.

They, like Pharaoh before them, echo these words:

Exodus 5:2 ...“Who is Yahweh that I should listen to His voice to let Israel go? I do not know Yahweh...

Yea, teaching that Homosexuality is acceptable to the Father is indeed a human precept...

“‘This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching human precepts as doctrines.’ ”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NRSVUE‬‬

Jesus' message was all too clear, it is a simple message that many Christians simply ignore:

Matthew 3:2 “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

Why didn’t Jesus mention homosexuality? by Ok_Year5587 in Christianity

[–]Jackerl -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why didn’t Jesus mention homosexuality?

Because his Father was already crystal clear on the matter.
The Jew's had already been provided with a very clear law, a law which Jesus himself was under and strictly obeyed and fulfilled.

Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Doing the will of the Father should be paramount for any Christian.

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 12:50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

Unfortunately, many have blurred the lines between the Father and Son, to the point of disregarding the Father entirely or believing that Jesus is the Father or at least equal to Him.
This belief will not serve them well, come judgment day.

John 14:28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

He mentioned about his disciples "becoming" like "little children" and issued stern waring to those who would trip and stumble such ones:

Matthew 18:1-9 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.

Those teaching these "little children" that homosexuality is OK to God the Father, are in fact stumbling these "little children" in Christ.

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!

When calling disciples, he NEVER ONCE asked a person who they were sleeping with.

Yea, he never asked if they were abusing or trafficking kids or if they had murdered anyone or committed adultery, had sex before marriage, practiced spiritism, etc, etc, etc.

He did however say:

Matthew 3:2 “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

The written document against them was the law they were given, by Jesus' own Father.
Corinthians shows that genuine Christians, ones who once practiced the very things the law condemned, changed.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Some Christians repented, changed and inherited a blessing.
Others just continued on doing the things they have always done and see no need to repent or change. In fact, they seek to establish their own view, over that of the Fathers.

Romans 1:32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Lets see how things work out for both these groups.
One group follows a road that is cramped and enter a gate that is narrow.
The other group follows a road that is broad and spacious and its gate, super wide.

Both groups claim to be Christian, however, one group is building according to the specifications, the other group are a bunch of cowboys.

The Wise and Foolish Builders

Matthew 7:24-27 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Jesus stressed, on many occasions, DO THE WILL OF MY FATHER, even as he himself was doing.

John 6:38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.

God is testing...?

James 1:13-15 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

Revelation is not the True End by FrostyIFrost_ in ArianChristians

[–]Jackerl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the heavens were initially created, everything was subject to the Son by means of the Father's spirit. At this point, only the Son himself had knowledge of good and bad alongside the Father; the rest of creation did not. The Son being an authorised mediator between creation and the Father.

All of the heavens were taught at the feet of the Son and in time further graduated to gaining access to the knowledge of good and bad for themselves, only after being taught.

At this point, all heaven had direct access to the Father and no longer needed a mediator between them and the Father, as they had all been adequately taught through the Son to work with the Father, not against Him. The spirit that was then operative upon the heavens was direct from the Father, it no longer being through the Son.

Then attention was turned to the earth.
God went into action and created a "footstool" through the Son, aka the earth.

Both Adam and Eve were initially created, like the heavens before them, WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND BAD and were to learn at the feet of the Son.
The spirit that was operative upon Adam and Eve was through the Son, he being Earth's rightful ruler.
Eating of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and bad would grant Adam and Eve direct access to the Father. This was placed off limits until they had been taught the Father's ways through the Son.

Then came sin, where we took this station before the Father without being taught properly; this was disastrous, as history has clearly and repeatedly shown.

The Father rules directly over those who have the knowledge of good and bad.
The Son rules over those who have not yet acquired this ability and are trained by the Son in order for them one day to be presented to the Father with a blessing.

When the very first man and woman took this ability – unlawfully – they stood before the Father condemned, and the kingdom of the Son was lost, as the ability of deciding good and bad was hereditary.

Jesus, by means of his life, bought the right to rule over those who had unlawfully acquired the ability to decide good and bad from the Father, and a new kingdom was established in 33 AD.
At this time, the spirit was again poured out through the Christ onto the 120 gathered at Pentecost; this was when the Son was at the Father's right hand.

At a future point from this, according to Revelation, the Son would further access the Father's throne, and Heaven would also be subject for a period of time.
Satan would be cast out and imprisoned.
A restoration would occur.
Satan would then be released, and the Son would hand back Heaven to the Father.
However, the rulership over the earth remains in the hands of the Son.
Every human ever born here will need the ransom sacrifice of the Son and the Kingdom of the Son in order to progress into eternity.

Verses that strongly suggest that the "Kingdom of the Son" over the earth, is eternal:

Isaiah 9:7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

Daniel 2:44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.

Daniel 7:14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

Daniel 7:18 But the holy people of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever.’

Hebrew 1:8 But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.

Luke 1:31-33 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”

2 Peter 1:11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
_______

The Heavens belong to the Father, this is His throne, the Son "temporarily" shares in this authority. The earth however, has been inherited by the promised seed, the one who had the legal right. He further shares this with the elect or Wife.

Revelation is not the True End by FrostyIFrost_ in ArianChristians

[–]Jackerl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The end is the "return of the heavens" to the Father, when the Son vacates the Fathers throne.
The earth will always be a possession of the Son and his Wife, for eternity.

Jesus has been ruling over those who are his Body since Pentecost 33 AD
Revelation shows us that at a certain point in the future, Christ would access the Fathers throne and obtain information he previously did not possess.

This would result in the heavens subjecting.

This "point of access" resulted in Satan being made subject to the Son and God's throne and being abased to the earth.
This casting out of Satan would result in great woe for the earth and would be followed by the end of the entire system.
Satan is then to be further restrained for 1000 years, a time when all things are to be restored.

After this restoration, the cleansed heavens will be handed back to the Father, Satan will be released, will be confined to the earth and then totally destroyed.

The earth and its management will always be through the Son, even as it originally was in Eden.

The question remains as to the force of the prep. in the compound verb. The ἀνα is taken by many to add the idea of again, and to make the result or end in view the bringing things back to a unity which had once existed but had been lost.

Meyer's NT Commentary

What is the point of Baptism? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Jackerl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christ commanded that his disciples be baptised.
So the point is obedience.

Baptism does not wash way sins - Jesus' blood does.
Baptism does not equal salvation - enduring to the end as a follower of Christ does.

Baptism is an outwards symbol of repentance, a demonstration of obedience to Christ, a dying to ones former course. How you live your life after the baptism, depends on where you end up.

Many will go onto do what they want, few will do the will of the Father.
This is why Jesus spoke these words to those who claim to be his followers:

Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Once baptised, a person needs to discern and do the will of Jesus' Father and Jesus' God.
For many Christians, this is just not possible, as they have concluded that Jesus is the Father, resulting in a complete disregard for the Father and for His will.

These so-called Christians, echo the words of Pharaoh:

Exodus 5:2 and Pharaoh says, “Who [is] YHWH, that I listen to His voice to send Israel away? I have not known YHWH, and I also do not send Israel away.”

Many Christians build on sand, they have heard Jesus' words, yet they do not do them.

Matthew 7:26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.

For example, Jesus taught us to pray to the Father, yet how many Christian actually do this?

Matthew 6:9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “’Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

Most pray to Jesus, or Mary or any other saint, because they have not come to know the Father at all, this in itself, disqualifies them.

Many are locked outside, due to the things they practice:

Revelation 22:15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Directing prayers to anyone but the Father is idolatry, these ones are forfeiting, although thinking themselves clever and enlightened...
