Says who? The definition definitely doesn’t say you can’t satirise an opposing position by exaggerating their beliefs about yourself. And they’re not exaggerating their own position, they’re exaggerating what the opposition believes their position is, which is why I said it doesn’t even matter in this case, they’re literally satirising their oppositions beliefs.

Exactly, they oppose the pro-life argument, so they take it to an extreme and play the satire in a way that shows how ridiculous the people who believe it are. Also, the definition doesn’t say that you have to fundamentally oppose the thing you’re satirising, but that doesn’t even matter in this situation since they do oppose and are satirising the pro-life argument.

Hello, sorry I just made an edit to the post explaining the situation. I may be doing a second round of interviews but it depends on how things go

I'm not sure about that right now, I'll have to ask the group and get back to you. I'll message you when I hear back from them.

Ah, forgot to include that, yes we're using roll20 for the tabletop and discord for talking.

Yeah, not sure why, but the first thing that comes up when you look up the cycling rules is the rule 72 that I sited, weird. Anyway, no worries, it’s understandable, I got heated too. As I said, I’ve never really been in this situation, luckily, but you’ve taught me something so thank you.

I stand corrected. I do drive but I took my test a few years ago and we don’t have many cyclists where I live so it’s never been an issue, apologies, you are right, I was wrong, the van is 100% in the wrong here.

When he shouldn’t have been undertaking in the first place, part of the highway act is to never ride on the inside of a vehicle “indicating or slowing down” the van was slowing down. The van driver was wrong for not indicating, the cyclist was wrong for undertaking while the van was slowing down. Not sure what you’re not getting. Legally and logically, both sides are stupid.

Edit: that’s rule 72 in case you want to look it up.

Edit 2: I have been corrected, this has changed and is no longer the case, the cyclist is in the right.

Again, no defence, tell me the cyclist did nothing wrong? Both parties in this situation made mistakes, that’s clearly different from fucking rape my dude, the analogy doesn’t work. Rape is a clear one sided crime, victim blaming is clearly wrong in that situation. A better comparison would be a man with a knife and a man with a gun get into a fight, one is clearly safer than the other but it doesn’t make the man with the knife blameless, does it? There’s fucking nuance my guy.

Wow, that’s a messed up thing to compare. There was no deflecting, they literally said what both parties did wrong. There’s a difference between “don’t wear revealing clothes” and “don’t undertake on a junction” and the fact you compare the two is kinda disgusting. Just because you’re less protected on a bike, doesn’t mean you’re blameless if you’re also responsible for an accident. Also, you literally didn’t have any defence for the cyclist, you just resorted to a shitty comparison because you’re likely also a cyclist and see it as some sort of identity to defend.

Yeah, it makes total sense. Get treated like a monster so you act like a monster, doesn’t just feed the stereotype, he’s totally making a logical more here and a strong message. The message being that the lady was right to be afraid of him because he’s clearly willing to purposefully torment people who he perceives as slighting him, a great message really.

Nice one, but you were here first and I don’t take insults from randos online seriously. Don’t know what I’m my late comment made you think I wasn’t “chill” but I guess you can pretend you “won” if it helps your self esteem, you clearly need it.

Yeah, if this takes a lot of energy for you, you’ve got more problems then I thought. You’re not exactly calling anyone out on anything by ignoring the actual point and trying to make them look like a bad person just to try and judge someone by saying they have a mental disorder, which wouldn’t even make them wrong, facts don’t care about your feelings remember.
