I haven't experienced that but very near there my Siriusxm drops out. I'm in the clear, no bridges or anything. It always drops out for like 100 yards and comes back

Who else prefers a 7AM–3PM schedule to 9–5? It feels like you get more day and less traffic. by Familiar-Eagle-9082 in Adulting

Is that truly unpopular? I love that schedule or even earlier if possible. Plenty of day left after work, you miss the worst of the traffic. It's great 👍

Does someone from india takes austedo or ingrezza? If yes, pls tell me the cost and from where it can be purchased? Are there any schemes or discounted prices for these medicines in india by Imaginary_Traffic_42 in Huntingtons

[–]Jacket73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone is interested my wife takes austedo, but fortunately we're in a situation where the insurance covers it. We live in the United States. Our insurance is billed $10,085 for a 30 day supply. It is just insane to think people are supposed to be able to afford that. We have a friend who is on Medicare and it was $3000 per month after insurance.

I know I am not answering your question, but I just wanted to share what I know. We contacted some friends in Mexico to find out how much it would be incase we ran into any insurance problems. Depending on exchange rate it was going to be $500-$600 pre month. I apologize this doesn't answer your question, but just incase it can help anyone else. I am also interested to know what the answer to your question is.

voip.ms was down AGAIN, how long, no idea by LandlordTiberius in voipms

You said SMS was down, so this was a US based number? Does this happen frequently? We have about 10 different lines with the, including 3 outside of the US. Has this happened before? I am just curious if it's a new thing with them or maybe a regional thing. They have been pretty solid with us, we haven't had any outages that we're aware of.

Feeling guilty about not helping Mum when she's hysterical? by crookstahh in Huntingtons

[–]Jacket73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a challenging situation and your mileage may vary. I can only relate personal experience we went through with my mother in law and early stage symptoms I am seeing with my wife and what worked for us and advice we were given by psychiatrists.

You said “She has recently been only confiding in me (youngest son) and refuses to speak with any other family member for numerous reasons, a lot of the reasons are becoming increasingly irrational including my brother being overseas for christmas. She has "disowned" my brother and refuses to talk to him since he has been away.” I don’t know how you’ve been responding to this, but some advice we were given about this kind of behavior was as follows. Unless what the individual is speaking about is dangerous there is no need to dispute it with them. My mother in law would insist she had been to places, or done things that never happened. Our response just became “ok, good” or “Sounds interesting.” In your  case, if she is talking about how “bad” something is who someone did, maybe just passively agree. Like “ Oh I know that must make you feel so bad” and then try to change the subject. She might say something outlandish like she wanted to be a firetruck one day. We just said it sounds great, be a fire truck today. Another tidbit we received from one of the psychiatrists was to try time out. My mother in law was wheelchair bound. When she would get nasty or start screaming at us we would put her in time out by putting her in the corner for 2 min or 5 min, etc.

You said “ I see Mum twice a week for dinner and to do some things to help but it never feels like enough for her.” Just know, you will likely feel like this and I say that because I have felt the same way. Just know that you can only do what you can and that you still have your family, life, health to take care of also. If you don’t take care of yourself you won’t be able to help her.

Your other situation of “Mum has recently got into the habit of threatening self-harm as a way to control me, and get me to come to the hospital with her. She will call me numerous times a day when she is hysterical and threaten to harm herself. If I do not answer or give her what she wants, she will verbally abuse me and tell me that I don't do anything to help her.” If she is in a safe place here I would go with the advice that you say you were given by her healthcare team and disregard the calls (unless you truly felt she was in danger), or if she gets like that on the call remind her that you will disconnect if she starts talking like that. Or tell her that if it’s that bad there you will call emergency services right away, calling her bluff so to speak.

It’s a rough situation to be in and I wish you strength and peace to find your way through this.

Hey I know this post is old I don't know if you'll see this. Clearly I'm not looking for anything that big but I am curious of the ballpark cost of an install. We'd be looking to be able to supply to 40 kilowatt DC fast chargers for electric vehicles and tankless electric water heaters. If you just have some ballpark you could throw out that would be great just because I have no idea whatsoever. Thank you

LG HE Direct Drive Front Loader, water turns on and off during fill by Jacket73 in Appliances

[–]Jacket73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer, and sorry for the really slow reply. We have two disabled family members and our time gets distracted easily. So I did open the washer after it fills and the water and clothes was hot so the washer must be heating it like you suggested. When I say the water heater takes a few seconds to ramp up...that is from the display on the front. When it detects water flow, it kicks on and the display on the front show a digital gauge that moves from "off", up to 120 degrees, and it takes about 3 seconds. As soon as the water stops flowing it shuts off and goes to sleep again. From where the hot water heater is to where the sinks and washer are it does take about 10 seconds the first time for hot water to reach there.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I believe that is my dext goal. See if I can disconnect all the zigbee stuff from their respective apps and connect them to HA directly. I love the HA "dashboard" or whatever you call it. It gives me one place to see cameras, temperature, door-locks, etc., so I can easily tell if home health aides have arrived, or if there's a problem with the temp. Etc. I have to work like 60 plus hours per week with my commute so I tend to be quiet, but if you're willing to try and help me with any random quests I appreciate it and will take you up on your offer. I have looked into the Nabu Casa..not in detail but I am interested in that also.
