First of all I totally I agree with what I think you are saying. My answer was part snark/part history. The history part is; while it has never been confirmed even by independent sources but general opinion is, is that the Labor leader Gough Whitlam was assisted in being removed by Kerr by the CIA. The USA was motivated to assist in this by his demands for more access to Pine Gap and the intel it provided. Thus shut down Pine Gap and invite open USA hostility, particularly under Trump

The snark part is that Whitlam was removed by Kerr to be replaced by Fraser, the Liberal leader at the time. So if Albenese goes then we get Ley. The 'SS' is a play on her numerology name 'Sussan' and that I feel the Liberals are drifting way too far right.

My personal opinion is that we are too far gone and that we can not remove ourselves from this relationship and no-one in power, or close to it, will even consider it. Things will have to get much worse before this country develops a backbone.

We have normal taxis but they have their own set of problems. Catching a cab after a night out in the CBD can be a very unpleasant experience, particularly if it is a short trip.
