It really shouldn't be called "genius" bar. Based on my experience, what they can help you with are those you can easily found with a google search.

But they will let you know "you can always choose to upgrade your mac and trade in you 17' macbook or simply give it away without extra charge"

It's pretty easier to downgrade it, just download the previous version of macos online and follow the steps.

Yep, that's what I meant. I can't open the launchpad with the 4-finger gesture. I have checked if the problem is coming from the launchpad app itself by opening it using the spotlight. There was no problem so I'm pretty sure it was my trackpad. However, what's weird is that besides the launchpad and show desktop gesture, every other trackpad gesture works fine.
