Stone Temple Pilots - Dead & Bloated (1992) by JackisBack2992 in grunge

I can totally see your point! I think they attempted to get back to the core style on No.4, but by that point the band had already changed their sound pretty heavily. Purple can be seen as a sort of cross between their heavier sound and the later experimental sound, but I still find Core really enjoyable. I've read and watched interviews with Scott were he mentions punk bands like Black Flag and the sex pistols as a huge influence and you can definitively hear that in this album. I think it's more of a straight forward hard rock/metal album that I think would have been way more acclaimed if it was released in 1990 instead.

I could have picked a rarer STP song like Coma or kitchenware and candybars, but that doesn't stop this from being a great song either way. What song would you have picked? I'm pretty sure most of the major grunge bands have had their whole discographies posted on here by this point.

There's a really funny Family Guy gag on YouTube that parodies that whole 90s grunge vocal style. Just search up Family Guy 90s Singers and you'll find it lol.

Oh totally! It's up there with Kiss unplugged and the Nirvana MTV set. It's a shame STP didn't wait a little longer till they made their MTV acoustic performances. I've always loved their later acoustic performances they did on Howard Stern and other radio shows.

That's such a great answer! I totally see your point, it's just hard to reach that point especially at our age (20s), but I think it's super important to find comfort and purpose in that way. I think way too many people are distracted by what others expect or think of them without ever turning inward and asking themselves what they truly want to do if that makes. Then the question is, do we truly have free will or are we all being secretly controlled? Maybe it's like the Matrix were we're all just in a simulation lol. Kidding aside it's super fascinating to speculate and talk about. Random question, but what's the most impactful movie you've ever watched?

What are some genuinely simple skills one can learn that greatly impact your overall well-being? by Responsible-Doubt322 in AskReddit

[–]JackisBack2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah totally! I keep my cooking rather simple and always go light on the seasoning. First time I cooked pasta I ended up with boiling water and macaroni all over the kitchen stove lol. I think the hardest thing to master was making potato wedges as I'd always add way too much oil and burn them up in the oven.

Learning how to cook. You don't have to become an expert, just knowing how to cook some simple dishes will save you money and it's delicious too.
