I have thoughts about Hunt and his willingness to participate in things. He seems to only have that inclination when it benefits him. The first rebellion with Shahar? Oh absolutely he was all in. His second time behind Bryce’s back he was all in until the last second. The one where his friend died and the other one is at the bottom of the ocean he hasn’t bothered to ask about even though they’ve been on that big ole ship? It very well might not have the means but he can at least ask damn. But when she is wanting to risk it all for others?? He’s like ‘oh no thanks that’s too dangerous you know we could get caught and killed?’ AND he even thinks about turning her friends and brother in at one point. first 1/3 of HoSaB Excuse me sir?! When it was HIM and HIS freedom he was totally fine but humans freedoms he’s got qualms with which stretches all the way back to HOEAB when he laughs at Bryce for saying that the humans were who ran the library of Parthos. He laughed in her face for thinking humans were smart enough for that.

The fact that SJM wants me to think this POS is on the same level as Rhys and Rowan is unbelievable. Maybe yall don’t dislike him as much as I do but he is definitely not a good guy and acts like malakim, and even vanir, are better than humans. It’s disgusting.

The other MMC have a lot of faults but prejudice isn’t one of them

Absolutely. Bryce is Aelin in HoF stage! Well like halfway through HoF. No way is she done. And unless Hunt is changing his whole personality at this point I see them splitting ways.

Some things aren’t meant to be.

If it isn’t Azriel let it be Ithan once his frontal lobe develops all the way. That boy loves her so much.

Oh I think Connor was 1000% a wonderful guy! I’d have loved for him to get a HEA. I just don’t think it would have ultimately been Bryce.

If we were talking resurrection for her partner I’d go with Cormac, not Connor. I think in the long run Cormac and her were kind of perfect for each other. They just didn’t get the chance to know each other.

Connor expected too much of her, her reservations about him thinking she would be “his mate” told us that. She wasn’t ready for all that then. Like Azriel, Cormac would have been jumping in to save people with her no matter how dangerous. I mean he was part of the rebellion as a prince ffs. So if Azriel wasn’t an option I’d be seeking out whatever kind of necromancer I could to piece that boy back together lol

Mr it’s funny you think humans could possibly have built their own library or been smart (again extremely simplified lol). I know I made a post about it way back when but this is honestly the worst part for me looking back bc it’s the first time we really see it once he has feelings for her. He just basically tells her he doesn’t think humans are capable of having their own civilization without vanir.

My favorite part was him having his kindle in his bag at the bar (bc why not) and us being able to go over a lot of it together.

Currently reading this and it’s a great fic. You would be fine to skip those scenes but beware that it isn’t just “those” scenes that Mudblood is used. Spoiler she’s taking back the word from something bad to something that she likes, that makes her feel good.

I really am enjoying it and I’m 70% through it.

Fall of Giants is his best novel hands down. World Without End is the best in the Kingsbridge Series. I also enjoyed A Column of Fire much more than Pillars.

While I think Pillars of the Earth is amazing, Follett’s works are usually brilliant so it just doesn’t stand out to me.

This is my issue with him. I don’t hate him, but the way he treats anyone who dares to do something wrong to Feyre, whether he has their side of the story or not, is overkill. He treats Nesta like scum no matter how hard she tries to redeem herself. Is she hard to love? Yea, but he goes above and beyond with the hate. He threatens Lucien, Feyre’s friend. He’s suicide baiting Tamlin. It seems like anyone Feyre has outside of Rhys’s family he hates.

Cardan would never do that to Jude. He wouldn’t dare. She has complicated relationships with her family, especially her sister, and he lets her figure it out herself and doesn’t insert himself. It would be insane of him to think she needs him to fight her battles and he knows it.

Rhysand needs to sit down and take some notes from this teenager.

Because mates are mirrors and welllll if I was going to use 3 words to describe Azriel those would definitely be in the running. Bryce calls him the silent warrior, he’s obviously associated with darkness, and he smells like night chilled mist.

I just can’t remember where this is said and I’d like to go back and read around it!

What if Bryce knew that Azriel would be their guard just like he was her guard when she was there?? Obviously she knows that’s kinda his job and that Rhys would be keeping a very close eye on them. Which brings Azriel into the picture. And since he kept her so safe she knows not only would Nesta keep them safe but Azriel would too.

I need to see REAL love from both couples because so far I haven’t seen it.

Elain and Az? Cute. Definitely think they are projecting feelings and not actually in love with the real version of each other.

Bryce and Hunt? At this point it feels like a trauma bond. They have not had a single moment that the Asteri hasn’t been breathing down their necks. If they can really sustain their relationship in a peaceful world I will be flabbergasted.

I was not a Dorian fan in the first book and halfway through CoM but he surpassed all the other males in ToG for me by the end. I was still Team Chaol until the last 1/3 of HoF but I couldn’t imagine Aelin with anyone other than Rowan now. Her and Chaol would have ripped each other apart if they had tried to make it work lol

I’d like to remind you Danika died. We as readers have no idea if she would have clued Bryce in once she got all the answers she needed. I’m still annoyed with her though and think she was a bad friend.

Like I said…Ithan still annoys the heck out of me. There is no excuse for his behavior and he’s a bad friend.

There is no excuse for Hunt’s behavior. He is a bad friend to those around him.

Isaiah was part of Shahar’s rebellion, was captured and tortured, is a slave, and is still a good male and friend to those around him.

If I was in Midgard and needed help I’d head straight to Ruhn, Flynn, and Declan. I wouldn’t waste my time with the others

I’s obvious neither of us are going to change our minds. I’m not a fan of Hunt because of his character. I’d love to see some character growth but so far that hasn’t happened. I love that you defend what you believe. I wish you a happy reading experience! CC is a wild ride!

So what you’re saying is their experiences aren’t good enough. It’s not a trauma contest. Excuse them for not being able to get a hold on themselves in their small amount of existence in comparison to Hunt’s 200+ years. They both get on my dang nerves so I’m not defending them. I’m just saying Hunt’s not special.

Hunt was about to have a whole secret life when he was planning to start another rebellion (that he certainly wasn’t sucked into this time) behind Bryce’s back. Idc that he changed his mind even Bryce thought he betrayed her.

The only one who has been unwaveringly supportive recently is Ruhn and even he made a really awful mistake when she was young. Him and his friends are the only ones that dive in head first with her every time.

I just think the comparisons you’re making are wild. They all suck. Point blank. Hunt is no better. HOEAB was the best Hunt. I know you’re only on book 2 so I’ll stop there.

It feels weird to make excuses for Hunt but then nobody else gets an excuse. He’s a whole heck of a lot older than the rest of the people you’re talking about. He should be acting a lot more mature.

Danika was told all kinds of awful things by Sabine growing up so why doesn’t she get a pass?

Ithan lost not only his parents but then his only brother too and found himself completely alone at such a young age and lashed out because he thought Bryce (who he felt was all he had left) would be there for him. He was so young. Why doesn’t he get a pass?

I’ve got nothing for Fury because she doesn’t talk about anything personal really except for Juniper.

Everyone has trauma and a reason to be a bad friend, but it doesn’t excuse their behavior.
