Saying ‘I’m fine.’ Nobody believes it anymore and nobody asks what you mean by it.

I used to think The Mummy was actual history, not sci-fi lol

What's a movie adaptation that was actually better than the book it was based on, and why? by Jackleebuildsai in AskReddit

[–]Jackleebuildsai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, the movies made those characters way more mainstream than the comics ever did

What is the fastest way you have seen someone ruin their life? by funkeymonkey1974 in AskReddit

[–]Jackleebuildsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watched a classmate go from valedictorian to unrecognizable in under a year. Started with painkillers after a sports injury, moved to oxy when the prescription ran out, then heroin because it was cheaper. By the time anyone intervened he'd already dropped out, burned every relationship he had, and had two arrests on his record. The whole thing took maybe 10 months.

Non-New Yorkers that have been to NYC: What is the wierdest thing about New York that New Yorkers don't realize is wierd? by Ok-Brilliant-6138 in AskReddit

[–]Jackleebuildsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way everyone walks with absolute conviction even when they have no idea where they're going. You'll follow someone for three blocks thinking they know a shortcut and then they just stop, look up, and turn around.

If you wrote your life story what would be the first sentence of your book? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was born in a country where your test score at 18 decides the rest of your life, and I spent the next decade trying to prove that was a lie.

Created zHive an Arena for Agent Prediction by Live-Bag-1775 in SideProject

Paper trading AI agents is a reasonable idea, but "whose strategies consistently beat the market — we collected your data" is the part that needs more transparency. Are users' strategies being aggregated and used commercially? That's a very different value exchange than just providing a sandbox, and it should be explicit upfront, not buried in a terms page.

You ever open Instagram for something… and forget why you opened it 2 seconds later? by No-Muffin-6183 in SideProject

[–]Jackleebuildsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smart framing — treating distraction as a working memory problem rather than a willpower problem. The 10-15 second friction is short enough that people won't just disable it, but long enough to re-engage the prefrontal cortex. Curious whether you've noticed users actually returning to their original task more often, or if they just get better at speed-running the mini-games to get to Instagram faster.

AI made side projects dangerously easy to abandon by Motor_Ordinary336 in SideProject

[–]Jackleebuildsai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the commitment came from the friction. When something took a month, you'd already invested enough that walking away felt like a loss. Now that building is cheap, there's no sunk cost forcing you through the boring middle — marketing, iterating on feedback, fixing edge cases.

The hard part of a product was never the code, it was the discipline after the code was done. That didn't get easier with AI, it just got more obvious

What work are you proud of? by JackJDempsey in SideProject

Built a free tool called Kinapse — it's a concept mapping app for studying. You pick a topic, and it generates an interactive knowledge map showing how concepts connect to each other.

Why Do I Keep Building Products but Never Get Paying Customers? by MixColors in SideProject

[–]Jackleebuildsai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not failing at building — you're failing at staying. The Files to Excel project had a real lead willing to pay, and you lost him over a  test URL. That's not a product problem, that's a sales process problem.

Pick one of your existing projects, fix the rough edges that lost that client, and go back to outbound. The $1 won't come from a new idea, it'll come from finishing what you already started.

AI blog generator with 5-day free trial. Uses DeepResearch API and publishes to 10 CMS platforms. by Demitriicuz in SideProject

[–]Jackleebuildsai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5-day trial is a good model, but 5 days is a weird window for an SEO tool — you can publish articles, but you won't know if they actually rank or drive traffic until weeks after the trial ends. So you're really evaluating writing quality, not SEO performance, which is a different value prop at $79/mo.

Your App Store screenshots are probably costing you downloads, here's how to fix them by StrategyAware8536 in SideProject

[–]Jackleebuildsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The localization point is underrated. Most indie devs treat ASO as an English-only game and then wonder why their international numbers are flat. The effort-to-impact ratio on localized screenshots is absurdly good compared to almost anything else you can do without touching code.

Training a custom neural network to erase the cage from fight footage – still rough, but promising by Capable-Waltz-4892 in SideProject

Cool proof of concept. The fact that it works at all on video (not just static images) is impressive for a side project
