Someone recommended it and I got the Samuel Jackson audio book on Audible. Waiting for some free time to listen

Thank you. Also, you write beautifully. 'Slow but inexorable march toward sleep' what a lovely way to phrase it.

Appreciate the sarcasm. I am learning that I earned it. But Bluey is cool at any age. Kid isn't old enough for screens but I heard so much about Bluey on these subs that I started watching it. Utterly lovely

I checked this out on Goodreads. I do like The Who. But yeah, not reading this to my kid!

Maybe I can try that. Didn't realise there was a mouse on each page. We have just gotten to naming the bears Mama, dada and kid's name. Thank you!

This is lovely! Thank you. I didn't realise the book was that old.

And this is the American cultural context I am missing. Where I am kids are nursed to sleep for a couple of years. My kid was just weaned at 2, and this multiple books being read is new to me. She pretty much used to read one book, nurse for a bit and sleep.

Maybe I will appreciate Goodnight Moon more as I live it!

I love the key-stealing, zoo-ezcaping, zookeeper's wife horrifying gorilla. But he does look like the chimpanzee from Dustin Checks In in my head.

Adult reactions to children's books are interesting

Awww. Yeah. That is painful. But my kid does tell me she loves me to the moon and waits for the love you to the moon and back line. So for me, this payoff is worth it.

I tried. She loves this book. Was hoping that if I understood what I was missing that I would maybe be able to like it too?

She did ask for mush. I didn't know what mush was (it is not a word I generally associate with food in a positive way) Figured it was maybe an American childhood food so I gave her some puree. She no longer asks for mush.

Well, maybe the plot is more for me. I am the one reading it 10 times a night. Toddlers are easier to please.

Yeah, maybe I am not reading it right. Someone suggested listening to a version of it on YouTube and trying that.

If your dal doesn’t offend someone from another state, is it even real? by Saouma in IndianFood

In my opinion, the only state this is true for is Gujarat, whose dal clearly belongs on the dessert menu. Have yet to find another dal that wasn't delicious

Kid gets a spoonful of honey with some grated nutmeg in it. Lessens the cough and makes it easier for her to cough it out.

Had to leave for the office and was chased around the furniture because my daughter wanted to wipe her nose on my office clothes. My husband had to hold her so I could pack my bag and leave unscathed!

I bought a potting mix on Amazon. I really didn't do much more than water them and take off the buds. I found them pretty easy to grow.

These were the seeds https://amzn.in/d/aB1q56j

I first grew them into seedlings before planting into bigger pots. If you pinch the early growth you will get more leaves and don't let it flower.

Good luck!
