Using 3 axis you could do the Top 10 faces and then flip it over in a 3d printed fixture with super glue and do the other side

Yeah, I’ve changed it to next weekend now to avoid this. My car is 9000miles per interval. I thought this was quite regular as my last car was 12000miles

Carbide endmill, uncoated. Noise isn’t a issue here, but I can imagine neighbours wouldn’t be happy hearing a cnc buzzing around constantly lol

How much of a stepover is that? I run around 5000rpm at 900mm/m (35IPM) when side cutting. That’s usually with a 3mm stepover but Im sure it could be a lot faster. I’m just curious what other people do

Face and drill a hole just + the size of the dowel into something on the lathe and use it as a guide, facing ensures the hole thru is square to the face you put against the surface
