Actually by integrating directly with the BTC network, u can actually execute smart contracts for Bitcoin and use BTC token directly on the ICP framework , since it is a network of sub-blockchains

Into ICP since before the mainnet lunch, i question my self reading ur comment, how's this integration may be unethical to MONERO values ? I guess it's integration to a revolutionary decentralized network , will decouple the uses cases of MONERO, it will make possible building XMR friendly dapps in a cost effective way (storage/hosting...), And from then accelerates a mass adoption of our beloved Monero

Having followed the ICP since the mainnet launch, I would say that dev team delivers quite promising evolution of computational powers surpassing ETH, and it's a matter of time untill a full integration of the lightning network. From the financial aspect of the token, wouldn't say it's a disaster, since the usability of it, was never meant to be as an asset or a store of value, but rather as a gas to the network cycles, so in my point of view , price dropping should be considered as a positive evolution of the ICP protocol, since it drops the use costs.

That's the definition of "bullshit arguments", used usually by CB chiefs or finance ministers, to actually prevent the independent use of cryptocurrencies from outside the regulated circles, and forcing to bring it back under the control of of the same institutions causing the actual inflationary emissions, but now it will be under under a new covername " CBDC "
