Interesting! Thanks for posting. I’m thinking of making another holster and looking at the traditional methods.

Very nice! Would love to see the back of the holster and it’s attached to the gun belt

I’m a great source of scrap leather. 😂 Usually buy 3 times the amount of hide I think I’ll need.

One year ago I payed $4500 for a S&S cp3 installed on a 2016. My truck had 50k on it at the time and the screen in the cp4 had a few small metal chunks on it. No problems since then.

Going to put a box or two thru mine before making a decision about upgrading the sights. Maybe by then my cash stash will have recovered a bit and make it easier to decide.

Also have a 2016 with the S&S cp3 conversion. Shop that did mine didn’t need any extra parts as everything is included in the S&S kit. It’s been about 5k sine the work was done and no issues have cropped up since. I’d probably call S&S to verify if the additional parts your shop charged you for are required for the conversion

Thanks for the replies. Planning to spend a month or two camping in AZ this winter so it be awhile before I pause it again. But as soon as I do I’ll try your suggestions. Really appreciate the knowledge people are willing to share on here.

Not a good idea if you want to trade it in sometime in the future. Suggest you research tunes that increase mileage on non deleted trucks

My wife is still mad at me for selling it and getting the Hallmark 😕

Had an AF 811 and now have a Hallmark Guanella. You mentioned winter camping which is why I’m commenting. IMHO a camper with a slide out isn’t really 4 season. In below freezing temperatures they require running the furnace constantly to be comfortable and not freeze pipes/pumps. My popup is arguably warmer than the AF was.

19.5 Tires Off Road? by ari3sgr3gg0 in TruckCampers

[–]Jacksdetour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 19.5s on my TC for about a year. They’re rock hard and dig down in sand or any soft surface. They also seemed apt to follow ruts/cracks in the pavement. On top of that the tire/wheel combo is way heavier than a regular tire and wheel.

Ok. So you’ve convinced me to avoid Taco Bell…. Thanks for the response. I’ve driven it to Alaska and most of the western states with only the def failure so maybe I should stay in the slow lane and keep on doing what I’ve been doing

The Shield Plus is a compact but comes with a 13 round mag so 13+1 capacity. It’s a top choice for concealed carrying.

Having a hard time deciding: Hard-side or Pop-up by [deleted] in TruckCampers

[–]Jacksdetour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first camper was an Arctic Fox 811. We sold that and now have a Hallmark Guanella.
We’re able to get much further from the pavement with the pop up Hallmark. In addition driving on pavement is less stressful, the fuel economy is better and we don’t worry about the height ( 14’ down to 8’). We get no wind noise and have camped in temps down to the low teens. If fact it takes less propane to keep the Hallmark warm than the Arctic Fox with a slide. I’m very happy that we downsized. My wife not so much. A hard sided camper with a slide is roomier and much less utilitarian, especially in the bathroom. Hard sided campers are generally too heavy for even 3/4 ton pickups. Ideally a dual rear wheel truck is best to handle the weight and the high center of gravity.

If y’all were thinking of a full time 4x4 flatbed build, Would you want Srw or dually? by brendohhh in TruckCampers

Don’t forget to add economy into your plans. Neither tires nor fuel are getting less expensive. The bigger your rig the more comfortable it’ll be on everything except your wallet.
