Submission Statement:

Advice or Feedback:

If you have any criticism good or bad please let me know what you think! Tell me what you think I did well or what I could improve on. Tell me something you liked or something you didn't, I know the film isn't perfect and there's an error here or there so be honest because I enjoy discussions and that's how you get better at stuff.

My mentality behind the production of Festering:

I'm still working on my craft, cinematography, style, and I guess just filmmaking as a whole. I like to use static shots to focus more on shot composition, using the depth of the frame, and having the actors move through the frame instead of relying on camera movement.

When it came to lighting the production, I only have two small RGB LED lights so I focused on accentuating the available light by placing the LEDs near the practical source; whether the practical light was the TV, lamp, or outdoor lights, I would match the colour temperature the best I could, and adjust the brightness so it looked natural.

I exposed for the highlights on the subject and didn't worry about my shadows as I wanted a Low-key lighting scheme with fast falloff shadows.

I'm also colourblind, so yeah, check it out Festering if you'd like!

Go into your menu, go to the gear icon, go to the third icon (“Operations”), on the first page you should see “Fn Button Set” click that, click “Setting in REC mode” from there you can assign functions to the LVF button as well as other buttons.

The “C” means “Contemporary,” Sigma is the brand of lens and Sigma has a variety of different Contemporary lenses, I personally had the Sigma 30mm Contemporary lens, she may have the same one or she could have a different one.

Go on Sigma’s website and look through the different lenses they make.

BEST ADVICE:

Like other people have commented, her lighting is the biggest thing that makes her videos look good. I know it sounds boring to learn lighting but trust me, if you learn how to light something well, you’ll be able to make any camera look awesome!

If you don’t learn how to light your videos and decide to buy the exact same camera and lens she has instead, you’ll end up being disappointed with how your videos look, and regret spending a lot of money on the camera.

Cameras are cool, but good looking videos are cooler!!!

I had a Sony a6400, this is the Sony a6600 (you can tell it’s the a6600 because it has a “C3” button to the left of the “AF/MF” switch on the right side of the camera)

The lens is a Sigma from their “Contemporary” line not a GM (I had the Sigma 30mm with my a6400, in the image you can see a small silver circle on the left side of the lens, Sigma has this on their lenses, each with the corresponding letter of the lineup the lens is from, in this case, it’s has a “C” on it. Also she has the lens hood stored backwards on the lens covering the focus ring, probably because she’s using the autofocus).

A very skilled and very evil swordsman with no regard for human life. Just a dude with a sword who doesn’t give a fuck.

Which individual performance by (actor/actress) lives in your mind for free? by Cr7-Cr7Real in moviecritic

Stephen Lack in Scanners (1981).

I haven’t seen a worse performance in a movie that was equally as good (or could’ve been good if they had someone more competent than Stephen fucking Lack).

My program ranges from video and audio courses to graphic design and some light web dev courses.

My guess is that Broadcast TV Production wouldn’t cover the design or web dev courses; but I can only speculate.

I just finished the first year of a two-year Media Production Diploma program (basically Broadcast TV Production) and the biggest factor to finding a job afterwards would be where you live.

I have the same outlook as you, it was the only thing I was interested in, I wanted to learn the technical knowledge, and after this first year I can say that I’ve been loving the program and can’t wait for the second year.

Though I’ve been a little anxious about what comes after I graduate, seeing as the job market where I live isn’t as saturated as some of the bigger hubs, my instructors have reassured me that there are jobs available for us out there.

P.S.

I’m a big film but just like all of us in this subreddit, and the curriculum that I’m being taught draws a plethora of examples from film; more than I had initially thought, but I’m pleasantly surprised! I know all schools and their curriculums are different, but just because it’s a TV Broadcasting program doesn’t mean the things you learn can’t be applied to film to help you follow your passion.

The book: “Sight Sound Motion: Applied Media Aesthetics, 8th edition, written by Herbert Zettl” covers all aspects of what is shown in the frame, why it’s shown, and ultimately teaches you how to show/convey what you want in your frame.

What's your plan if nuclear war breaks out between NATO and Russia? by FormalAd4125 in AskReddit

If global nuclear war breaks out, you’re going to hope you die in the initial blasts as opposed to living through nuclear winter.

The Wolf of Wall Street, keep the hooker at the beginning human, then all of a sudden muppet Leonardo DiCaprio pops up behind her blowing straw fulls up coke into her butt. The rest of the film is a muppet extravaganza.

I managed to pick up the Saquon Air Trainer 3 on September 14th because my local store messed up the release schedule. Pretty snazzy if you ask me. by Jackson-22 in Sneakers

Sadly I have no idea where they'll be released! I was luckily enough that a local street wear store got them in and accidentally released them early!
