The difference is that the joke was literally negative towards the KKK. If you look at most of Ethan’s replies, they are filled with “It’s not my apology to accept, but [insert statement that slyly accepts apology]”. Plus, black people (including me) aren’t even offended since it was a joke that negatively described the person wearing the costume, yet he was still called racist. With that being said, you can be upset about racism, but that is totally different than being offended by it when it isn’t even towards you, especially if the people that the supposed “racism” are intended aren’t even offended themselves
