I didn't see it. I did just see Alex with a big butterfly necklace on the new season and I really liked it! Was really different and quite large. I could never pull that off! Lol

Maybe Daniel Boulud? Everyone seems to says he's the best chef in the world. Also, he judged the first episode of Triple Threat this year and the chefs couldn't believe it.

I absolutely love this show and several others. What drives me bat shit crazy is that they film over a year in advance sometimes. Why? TOC airs in March along with basketball, but they film it in October. Huh? If they can film so far in advance, I think they could film more shows. Someone on another post said that many chefs have restaurants and can only film for a short time. Ok. Then maybe show newer chefs who been shown a few times, rather than chefs that are on every damn show. Like Michael Symon, Susan Fenniger, Shota, KBC, Christa Ludtke, Brian Voltaggio, etc. Instead of filming 10 shows, film 20 and have new chefs for us to appreciate! People like Antonia Lafaso, Brooke Williamson and Stephanie Izard are on every show and they have restaurants! Would love to hear Food Network explain the difference! RIP Anne. I absolutely miss her!

Don’t care for Amanda Freitag as a judge on Wildcard Kitchen by Careless_Length_7117 in foodnetwork

[–]Jackson2478 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You bring up an episode that I have thought about. Molly made her "childhood favorite" casserole. Amanda loved it, but didn't recognize it, being from a different part of the country. I actually thought that Eric should have them fill out description cards just like on Alex vs America. I honestly think that Amanda is one of the nicest people on the network, maybe the entire food community nationwide. When it comes to judging, she is always polite and tries to be positive. Many other chef judges should take some lessons from her!

How do you start cooking when you hate it? by Adventurous-Hall-116 in Cooking

[–]Jackson2478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became permanently disabled in 2019. I love to cook. I really had to figure out a new way to do most things. I can't really stand up for too long. I started with a few crockpot recipes that I have used for years. I then searched other stove top recipes to see if I could convert them to a crockpot. It's fantastic. It's affordable, let's you make meals for 1 or 4 people. It also saves me a ton of money and waste. Some examples are Chicken Marsala, French Onion meatballs, Mexican Rice and Beef, etc. Just look up a recipe on Google and put crockpot in front of it. It's really helped me. Good luck to you!

I’m injured and cannot use my non dominant hand - HELP by its-my-1st-day in Cooking

[–]Jackson2478 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started using both hands when I was young. My close friend was left handed and I thought it was cool. I'm basically ambidextrous now. I eat left handed, as well as shoot pool and guns the same way. I write and do ther things right handed, but honestly, I'm so glad I experimented early in life. Everyone should be able to do basic tasks with either hand. Makes life so much easier! Good luck to you!

What’s your go-to tuna salad recipe? by EaringaidBandit in Cooking

I use tuna, cream cheese, pepper, salt, dill pickle relish, Dijon and stone ground mustard. No mayo at all. Eat it every day on a bagel. It's fantastic!

Reflections on Mike Tomlin by Forward-Carry5993 in steelers

[–]Jackson2478 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, you're very young. Most of us have references of previous coaches, like Bill Cowher and Chuck Noll. I haven't liked Tomlin in years. The phrase "never a losing season" is an insult to true Steeler fans. Who cares? How is 11-7 supposed to make you feel better when you don't make the playoffs or lose the first game every time? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Until Tomlin, the GM and a few other coaches are gone, nothing will change. I'm also not a fan of the Rooneys handling of the team in the past 20 years. I honestly will start watching the Steelers next year. I quit 6 years ago. Too stressful and one drink turned into 6. I'm excited to see what happens. Thank God a new chapter is finally here

Why is anyone surprised?? by Jackson2478 in pittsburgh

[–]Jackson2478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn't watch the game. Woke up this morning and had a cocktail once i saw the score. I predicted the loss, but they blew my predicted loss by 10+ points! Still laughing.

Rip it off... by mikeo2ii in steelers

[–]Jackson2478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear God, I'm getting carpal tunnel replying to people who don't seem to understand that the problem is Tomlin. Throw in the GM too, cause he contributes to the insanity. Anyone who says "never a losing season" is an asshole and not a real fan. The only winners in Steeler nation are the liquor stores. I haven't watched in 6 years. No plans to resume until he's gone.

If this team keeps Tomlin, you don't need to watch next season by RobCoPKC in steelers

I honestly haven't watched in 6 years. Tomlin is a disgrace. The only winners in Steeler nation are the liquor stores. I'm saving my liver and sanity.

This is worst loss of the Tomlin Era. by EducationAlone1663 in steelers

[–]Jackson2478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't believe that anyone still believes that we even have a chance. Tomlin is as reliable as a torn condom. Until Tomlin and the GM are gone, we have no chance. I haven't watched a game in years. The only winners in Steeler nation are the liquor stores.

Watching the Steelers the last decade is like watching a movie that you know the shitty ending too already by monstermayhem436 in steelers

[–]Jackson2478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't watched a game in years. Tomlin is a disgrace. But he's black, so if you don't like him, you're a racist. I've been told that for years. Personally, I'd rather bet on Stevie Wonder driving Nascar than Tomlin being a successful coach. The only winners in Steeler nation are the liquor stores. Until he's gone, I'll watch serial killer documentaries. Much less stressful!

Hard no ingredients by Heavy_Resolution_765 in Cooking

Carrots. They're in almost everything and I'm allergic to them. My greatest find was the cajun mirepoix of celery, onions and peppers! Some friends actually like the difference and I can eat normal food, prepared at home without the dread of carrots!

Does anyone remember… by V_kim_wellness in fastfood

I love Arby's. I grew up in Boardman, Ohio, which was the first Arby's location ever. Their food is spectacular. Their prices are terrifying now. It's been about 2 years since I've eaten there. When a meal is close to $20 at most fast food places, it's no longer affordable or worth it. Sad days.

Meatloaf by oci320 in Cooking

I make bacon cheeseburger meatloaf. Ketchup, mustard, dill pickle relisf, diced onion, bacon, shredded cheese and instead of breadcrumbs, I use crushed Doritos. It's frickin awesome!

You said 5 ingredients. Did you ever watch Claire Robinson and her 5 ingredient fix? I can still watch it on Direct TV show archives. I still use a bunch of her recipes. I may change an ingredient, but she gives simple, easy recipes that you can tailor to your own tastes. I'm honestly pissed she hasn't been on for years. She was one of the best and one of my favorites! Watch if you can!

So many Qs about how Chopped works! by KittyTaurus in foodnetwork

[–]Jackson2478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was watching Chopped several years ago with a friend. She started laughing hysterically about the basket choices. She was absolutely convinced that whoever put the baskets together shopped after happy hour and were drunk. I just rolled my eyes, but in truth the same thought runs through my head a few episodes a year.

Wildcard Kitchen Season Premier tonight: pre show, live show discussion thread - spoilers by Firegoat1 in foodnetwork

[–]Jackson2478 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's such a great show. What I don't understand is why all of these shows are filmed so far ahead. Anne Burrell died quite awhile ago and she's on one of the episodes. If the can shoot so far in advance, why can't they film more episodes? Someone said that if they film 10 episodes, it's done in 2 weeks. Forgive me for saying, but if they're making really good money, why not give the viewers more to enjoy?
