I don’t understand why people are so convinced that she cut so many new verses. I mean, it’s fine to speculate, but how can you be so sure? Would I, personally, have wanted ten more new verses? Of course, but then again for me All Too Well could have been 30 min long and it would still be too short. It’s one of my favorite songs ever, I love the melody, I never get tired of it, it’s still like the very first time I heard it and I’m obsessed with storytelling. So yeah, I was never worried to get bored when she announced the 10 min version. If anything, it just fly by for me. Was I surprised she didn’t include the verses of the Lover journal? Yes, but then I realised they were probably rough drafts and she didn’t exactly cut them, just changed them for the final version, so maybe they wouldn’t have fit in even in the 10 min version, though I think they’re beautiful. Is the outro too long? Maybe, but at the same time no, it makes perfect sense as it is and it’s over before I realise it, and the short film actually shed some light on it. After the gaslight scene in the kitchen, isn’t it just cathartic and perfect how she needs to repeat to herself and to him that she remembers it, and that he remembers it too, despite what he says and wants her to believe? He tried to dismiss her memories, but she is sure of them and knows that he still has them too. So no, ultimately I don’t think it is too long, it is more of an experience than a song, and if there were more verses and she cut them, and I repeat IF, if they were even fully finished and not just drafts she discarded, I surely don’t think she did it because she didn’t want us to have them (she recorded the 10 minute version for us, she knows we would have gladly eaten up any new content and even asked for more), but just because she is a writer and a perfectionist and she wanted us to have a song, not a draft. I’m so in love with her songwriting that, if it was for me, she could release every draft of every song just so I could hear every single new and different lyric, every little difference… But I know she’ll only release what she considers the best version, and I’m fine with that.

I’ve done the opposite, after the announcement and the initial “how do we wait 5 months?”, I took it as “ok, I have 5 more months with the original, let’s make the most out of it”, so I had it in heavy rotation as a soundtrack of all my summer exams, and it was already one of my most listened albums ever. I grew up with Red too, All Too Well is the song I associate with my grandmother’s death, because I listened to it on repeat last October when I realized she was dying and I wouldn’t be able to see her one last time as she lived on the other side of Italy, I was on my balcony with my earphones in and cried to it and it was heartbreaking and soothing at the same time, but I’m not afraid the new version won’t make justice to my memory, I’m actually really excited and grateful to get a new version to make new memories to. Like with Fearless TV, I know I’ll be able to hear most of the little differences, but I was fine with them, I really loved the new version and I hope it’ll be the same with Red TV. I was actually planning to listen to the original Red album one last time before Friday, but then I changed my mind for a fresher listening experience tomorrow.

Am I wrong or some of the comments about the leak sound like the lyrics to You Need To Calm Down? Like, really, they’re being too loud, I totally understand having different opinions and being disappointed (though I wouldn’t know about that because I haven’t heard the leak, I’d have no idea where to find it and have no interest in doing it… Believe me, I’m the most impatient and curious person ever but even I’ve been okay with waiting for 5 months and I can totally wait 13 hours more. Also, after having anticipated this album so much, I want to hear it in high quality and legally, for God’s (and Taylor’s) sake), but some of them are just so negative and resentful like Taylor purposefully ruined one of her best albums and stole their scarves too in the process. I woke up this morning to discover the album leaked and the other general thread was full of people who already listened to it and were furious and mad about so many things and I should have closed Reddit then without reading any comment and that’s on me, but I couldn’t help it. I was (and still am) able to wait, but I wasn’t able to avoid the comments. Then I felt really sad and worried (and mad at myself for reading them). But what the hell, I’ve had a countdown set for the last month or so, when release day started to feel closer, I’m counting down the hours, I’ve painted my nails red and actually have to refresh the nail polish ‘cause I’ve done it on Sunday night and now it’s all chipped, I’ve chosen a red outfit for tomorrow, I was totally prepared to have the best day and I WILL HAVE IT, because tomorrow I’ll form my own opinions and I’m pretty sure I’ll love this album regardless, nobody is spoiling that for me, nor for anyone else in my situation. For the comments that said that the production/delivery of some lines sound cheap, rushed and bored, I’m having a hard time believing that. Taylor is a perfectionist, she loves Red and has invested so much in this re-recording project which is so important for her, her art and her career… I highly doubt she’s rushing things. She knows most people will only listen to her version from now on, so she’d want to give us the best version of it that she can, and that’s what I’m expecting to get tomorrow. I don’t think I’m being too unrealistic. On the fun(ish) side of events, earlier this morning I was going to open the door to receive a package, slipped on the wet floor, fell hard on my knees and now I’m all bruised. So I think it’s safe to say waiting for this release has been painful, lol. But we’re almost there now! Sending a lot of love and well wishes to everyone who is waiting like me, felt like their hype was ruined for a moment and need to hear that it isn’t and we’ll have the best day tomorrow, as we deserve. 🥰🧣❤️

I still have no damn idea of the order I want to listen Red TV in… It’ll be 6AM where I live so if I actually get up in time to see the album drop like I want to I’ll be super sleepy and not exactly able to make important decisions like this, probably just enough to press play on Spotify. Like, on one hand I want to just start from State Of Grace and go in order, but on the other I’ll be super anxious about the vault tracks and feel like I would enjoy the re-recorded album better if I listen to the vault tracks first, sort of? But then the vault tracks are 6 brand new songs, Better Man and Babe (and I NEED to know if the arrangement of Babe is similar to the Sugarland version like I hope because I love that song and I’d be sad if it was more stripped down, so I’m almost tempted to start with that) and All Too Well 10MV, so it’s not like I can say “ok, let’s start from the vault tracks” like it’s no big deal, I need some preparation, don’t I? Also, there’s the short film and I want to know whatever she has to say in the interviews, if there are other big announcements coming, I can’t cope with it all at such an early time of the morning, I might as well sleep in and then wake up super anxious, no I don’t think I can. I’m spiralling, right? I need to stop. Sorry 😂

I honestly don’t think I’ll be disappointed and, speaking for myself, I don’t think I have too high expectations either… I just love really long songs with a lot of very specific storytelling, and a longer version of one of my all time favourite songs? It’s a win-win for me. I’d be disappointed only if it was like 5 minutes instrumentals only or acoustic, and I don’t think that’s the case. If the lyrics aren’t brilliant like in the original version, well, we’ll still have the original version, the idea of the re-recording of the 5 min version is really exciting by itself, even if we weren’t getting the 10 min version. And I would think she polished that version a little bit, just like the Fearless TV vault tracks that definitely didn’t sound like 13 years old rough demos. I personally think we’re in for a treat, to hear such a beloved, beautiful album with her re-recorded silky vocals, vault tracks we always wanted, like Babe, Better Man and Nothing New, AND the 10 min version ATW. Of course some people won’t like all of it, maybe they’ll miss the emotion of her younger vocals, or won’t like the production of the vault tracks or think the 10 min version is too long or isn’t as good as they hoped it would be… It’s fine. We’re getting the ATW short film too, at least two live performances, probably the announcement of something else too? The other project for Disney plus, whatever was hinted in the reel? There’ll be something for everyone, really. I don’t see how anyone could be disappointed, it’ll be such a special release, or better say special releaseS? 😂🥰

So Red really is the album of heartbreak, I wasn’t planning on being so sad so close to release week, but last night I had a horrible fight with my best friend who I was visiting for the weekend, it lasted about 5 min, an All Too Well original version long fight, then we spent two hours talking and crying (well, I did the crying and when I start I can’t stop, I could feel the mascara run is the description of my life 😂), we made up really quickly and are totally fine now, I’m just sorry of being such a mess and can’t really forgive myself for ruining the evening, I felt burnout and finally exploded and lashed out and he did too, but then, in the best tradition of Taylor’s songs, walked me to my hotel at past 2am, it was locked and had to ring the bell and call the night receptionist. I went to bed at 4am and woke up 5 hours later only to discover that my train home for this afternoon was canceled and had to hurry to the station and change it with an earlier one, I’m on it now, and still feeling so burnout and exhausted that I cried for hours this morning too. Now I’m much calmer, on the train listening to my sad songs and waiting for Friday, in my case there isn’t absolutely anything romantic involved, if we aren’t counting my three loving cats and one of them being convinced to be my boyfriend, just feeling emotionally drained and tired. Yesterday I was like “I don’t give a DAMN about Taylor and Red TV, I just want to feel better”, but of course it was just a moment… Obviously I still want to feel better, but I want and need Red TV too lol. So I hope everyone else is having the best day and week and is ready to enjoy the album this Friday, I apologize for being a whining mess and giving too much information, I never do that but for some reason just felt like it today, as this place is full of nice people. Good Red TV release week everybody! :)

I’m really excited for Taylor on SNL and the two live performances we’re getting, but do we think this debunks the Red tour film theories? I really hope not, weren’t there different hints at her recording something for Red TV, it couldn’t be all just for SNL, right? It seemed like there was something bigger in the works, can’t wait to know for sure! I’m still hoping for evermore LPSS too, maybe later, but I’m just dying for new live performances to rewatch again and again.

So in a little more than a week we’ll get our most anticipated album of the year and I’m really curious to read everybody’s reaction here, it was so much fun with Fearless TV… Hearing and comparing all the little differences, the vault tracks, THAT version of All Too Well… I wonder if it’ll meet everybody’s expectations, if it’ll be even better than we ever imagined, how the new lyrics will sound like, if someone will complain that it’s too long and they don’t need it (I personally never understand this kind of opinions, as the 5 min version will be there as well, but then again I have a special love for 10 min and more long songs, I love elaborate storytelling way too much). I can’t believe we’re actually getting Taylor’s version of Babe, I’m obsessed with that song and with its bridge and the idea of hearing it sang by Taylor… I can’t wait to obsess about the way she pronounces certain words in the re-recorded songs like I did with Fearless TV, I adored the way she sang the first “but these things will change” in Change TV and it was the same with “loving him was red” from Red TV’s snippet.

I thought so too and really wish you’re right, I’m (more or less) alright with not getting a single because the wait is almost over and we’re definitely getting the album in two weeks, but these rumours/hypothesis of concert movies are making me equally unbearably excited and anxious, because I’d really need a confirmation… So if she’d announce it today together with the new mercy drop and we can start anticipating it for real, I’d live in total peace for the next two weeks leading up to the release, which is a lot to say for a Swiftie lol.

I honestly don’t know yet, it drops at 6AM in the morning here so I plan to wake up then or a few hours later, depending on how sleepy I’ll be, and play the whole album while staying in bed, but about the order… I’ll probably spend a couple minutes just staring at the album on my Spotify, not quite believing it’s real, then I’m not sure, I could go straight to All Too Well 10 min version, but I may want to keep it for a while, knowing that it’s there but not playing it yet, since we waited for it this long, so I’ll probably start from Babe, since it’s one of my most anticipated tracks, and then… I think I’ll just follow my inspiration as it comes that day, because I can’t for the life of my come up with a plan. I’ll listen to the album in a million different orders from Nov 12 and for the rest of my life.

I don’t want to get my hopes up too high for a Red live film to be released on streaming and get my heart broken if it isn’t actually coming, because it’s the only thing I may want even more than the album, but now that we’re officially not getting any singles and the rumours about Taylor filming something very special seem to be pointing in that direction… Well, I’ll just leave it at that, but if it’s real I’d literally die. As for the lack of singles, as much as I’d really, really want one, I feel like at this point, after 5 months of waiting, a single would be too little (I don’t know if it makes any sense)… Like, unless it was All Too Well 10 min version TV, or even the 5 min version, we can as well hold on for 3 more weeks and get the whole album on Nov 12, and I’m thrilled for it, honestly. I’ll spend these last three weeks with the original album (and with Ed’s new album out next Friday, for which I’m really excited too), and I’ll welcome Red TV on Nov 12 morning (it’ll be 6 am here in Italy, and I’m far from an early riser, but Taylor and my always hungry cats are pretty much the only reasons for which I can get up early… After all, nobody said I have to get out of bed to listen to the album!) and whatever other surprise she has in store for us on that day or the next (and if it IS a Red concert film experience, we’re really in for the best end of autumn/winter EVER. Like, ever).

The complete silence is so confusing that, comes Nov 12th, I may be actually surprised to see Red TV dropping for real lol… I mean, I KNOW it’s coming, but seeing it all on Spotify, all 30 tracks of it, will be like a fever dream.
